Seriously, I spend more time trying to log into this game than actually playing it.
I've crashed 4 times in the last 15 minutes trying to do crafting (I know, such a game-taxing activity), and each time it takes a good 3 minutes to log back in thanks to Error 304: This account is already logged in.

@ZOS_Kevin, serious question - does ZOS actually have testers for console? Does anyone at ZOS actually care about console players?
We're unable to run trials due to the constant crashing, PVP has been pretty much unplayable for a long time, and now we can't even take part in the event reliably.

The game is in a shambolic state, and we (once again) have a total lack of communication, and a totally lackadaisical and disrespectful attitude towards fixing the game.

Are you actually trying to drive players away?

    I'm sorry you are having these issues.

    What I found works for me when I get the "This account is already logged in" (on PC) is I log in to the other server (EU in my case) and then log back in to the NA server and it lets me in right away.

    But sometimes I get the message even when I haven't logged in for like 12 hours.

    While that workaround does work, the error happens pretty much every time the xbox crashes to the dashboard - which, at the moment, is about every 5 minutes).
    It becomes, frankly, ridiculous that there is now a full blown routine before being able to play on xbox:
    - Try and log in several times due to Error 304
    - Adjust screen brightness after it resets each time
    - Leave area chat that I didn't ask to join

    That routine was annoying enough without having to do it every 5 minutes.
    When you combine that with the myriad of other issues we've had to deal with recently such as taunt not working, block not working, menus not working etc, it becomes increasingly hard to rationalise

    Oh wow, that would freak me right out. I'd be checking my craft bag/bank to make sure my gold mats were still there and changing my password every time it happened.

    Not sure if the crash is related to multithreaded rendering but some hardware setups were experiencing that being one potential cause. You could try disabling that if you have it on to see if crashing is reduced. They supposedly have a fix on the way for that.

    In my experience when this happens, just trying to log in once, then closing the game, then logging in again will let me in.

    This is on console (xbox series S/X), so it's not multi-threaded rendering related.
    It doesn't appear to be related to any particular activity, either - I've crashed just standing still in my house...

    The time it takes to log into the EU server, log out, and then into the NA server is probably about the same amount of time it takes for the server to realize you are no longer logged in when the connection is lost.

    I feel for OP as it is frustrating. I suggest they open up a tech support ticket with Zenimax to help them figure out a solution as this does not seem to be more of a local issue since the forums would have exploded if it was an issue with the game most were experiencing.

    ZOS knows about this issue--it's been thoroughly discussed and documented in this thread, and they're hoping the patch they roll out in tonight's maintenance might fix it. Tomorrow morning, after maintenance is complete, hopefully Xbox series X & S players will be able to game as normal and participate in the event.

    You have my sincere sympathy & empathy. I play on Xbox as well, and the constant crashing has been game breaking. Here's hoping the fix they're attempting later tonight actually works.

    Port forwarding solved a lot of.my connection issues however I have read that console has memory leak?

    Important to note, though, that while ZOS are aware of the issue, most of the discussion has been between players with ZOS remaining mostly silent - which only drives the frustration further.

    The thing that is actually disgusting, though, is that these issues have been ongoing for nearly two weeks.
    Despite that, ZOS's attitude is "we'll align that with our next scheduled patch in a two week's time - you can deal with a broken game. Don't worry, though - submit a ticket to customer support and you can get your tickets".
    This is like the bugged menu thing all over again that we had to wait 40 days for [snip].

    We all know that, if they wanted to, they could request a 24h certification from Microsoft and Sony and have had the patch out days ago - but for some reason, like last time, they're refusing

    It may be anecdotal but I believe this is true as I certainly feel like game performance slowly degrades and shutting down and restarting my PS5 after a couple of hours of play greatly improves the experience.
    While crashing and remaining logged in also occurs randomly when doing the simplest of things the biggest culprit is getting involved in a large keep fight in Grey Host Cyrodiil when I've been logged in for more than an hour, as those seem to have about a 50/50 chance of causing this type of crash.
