Let's not give peeps more reasons to call necros P2W.

In all seriousness an important part of combat is being punished for not using a skill or ultimate in time.

Eternal Yokeda and the Phoenix set both lost the OG ability to prevent your death. ZOS clearly does not want this type of passive effect in the game.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

It would be thematic for necromancer but problematic for the game's balance. Especially in PvP.

Enemies are coded to reset when the last player dies, even when solo. This would add a layer of complexity the game system probably can't handle by default.

Sounds cool, and might not as problematic considering the revived Necro will be starved for resources, but in a group.... It's broken. Imagine a ball group that literally can't die. No thankyou.

There used to be two sets with a mechanic like that, but they were removed because people wpuld just unequip them while they were on cooldown.

Officially the reason was that they were used to cheese achievements and mechanics, but they weren't actually used nearly enough for that to have a real impact. I still weep for the phoenix set, for it is now useless.

Short answer, hell no. That mechanic would be way too strong.

That being said though, this post made me think of an idea.
What if the effect lasted a couple seconds on the ground and if you die in that time period, you can revive? Maybe a really short window like 3 seconds. I don't think that would be crazy strong. And as an attacker, you have the chance to stop attacking when you see a necro drop that ult.

Meh, just re-read that. Would probably still be way too strong. I can imagine kamikaze cheesing the hell out of it :D

I think this could be kind of interesting as a PvE-only passive effect.

“At 500 Ultimate: After you have remained dead for 5 seconds, this ultimate will grant you the option to revive yourself at the cost of 500 Ultimate.”

Losing all utility/damage from your ultimate slots to have a potentially useless ability is fine.

This kind of thing could never be allowed in PvP though.

It would be cool if there was a 2 second delay after casting it that triggered the revive. That way you could time it to revive yourself. With really good timing.

So like, a better version of the Psijic Ult? Still wouldn't be allowed in PvP because a whole group of necros doing this would break the game. lol

But only if it revives you at your faction's main gate. Last thing we need is SWB group members resing themselves. If you want to use it on yourself it should not only cost ultimate, but separate you from your group or the battle you were in. Otherwise the ulti-building builds would just keep resing themselves ad infinitum. It should also have a separate timer like the camp timer that prevents you from using it again w/n a reasonable period of time. You want an "Oh s**t!" button? Fine, but it'll cost you.

Panacea is many times more effective because it keeps you or allies from dying, continues to heal and buffs for 1/3 the cost.

I was only suggesting it because of a skill I have seen in guild wars because of how interesting it was.
    https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Lively_Was_Naomei
And guild wars pvp was one of the best. That skill didn't break the game.

I think it would be a cool idea, and 10 minutes cooldown will make the this ult pretty balenced

just like the old phoenix set

for all guys who voted no and argumenting it being to op in pvp : most strong necros need there ult to do dmg its not a normal skills its a pretty expensive ult

so if u cant use ur ult u have WAY less dmg than normaly

    sounds pretty balanced to me
u get more tanky and lose a lot of dmg

Used to be certain sets that revive a player if they died and people would use them for no death runs. ZOS removed them and I don't see this mechanic to be returning ever but never say never.
