Thurvokun Page Style and FOMO

If you have FOMO, this isn’t the type of game for you tbh.

MMO's weren't always this way, nor do they have to be.

Just because MMO's in recent years have become glorified cash shops like mobile phone app games doesn't mean that is how they have always been, nor that we should just accept that there are no other alternatives.

OP is right. The drop rate on these monster style pages is out of control. Even for dedicated gamers they are a pain to get. I spent the month that Zaan's was available farming vSCP multiple times a day, everyday, and never got the page. Luckily, I had a very generous guildmate who bought the page off of a guild trader and gifted it to me. That's also how I got my Thurvokun mask.

There's no reason it has to be this way.

Just by curiosity, how much you are willing to pay for this motif?

that's kinda irrelevant, my point is the means of getting the item is too far out of reach for causal players and the time limit on the item is fear spiking players to get them to sacrifice their time into the game.

Its almost/is exploiting human behavior and psychology.

The page goes for 2-4M pc na and the shoulder goes for 300-400k and the prices will increase due to low inventory after the pages stop dropping.

For me I'd say im not willing to pay anything at all for this item because everything in this game is turning into and endless fear mongering grind. This is still my favorite game, I enjoy pvp when it works so playing something else is out of the question.

    @NoodleESO

You can go to The Undaunted Enclave and get the mystery coffer for 1 key from Urgarlag Chief-bane. Each mystery chest has a chance for the shoulder motif to drop. Also, you can get the shoulder style right away for 50 keys.

Well, it is relevant, because as you said, you are casual player that play an hour for 3-4 days per week. And you expect that other people that invest their time, probably thousands of hours in making toons, gathering & tempering weapons, learning how to play and organizing to run for many hours through one of the semi-hardest (i am talking about HM) dungeons in the game, would sell you a motif for... yeah, i would love to know how do you price their time & effort to see if this complain have any sense of meaning. Or it is just karen rant to "speak with your archmage about your rights to have access to fomo".

I think you misunderstand, think of everything you just mentioned all that time and money. Now Zos's reply to that is: you might have a slight chance to get some pixels.

Your ROI is terrible and you devalue yourself by allowing your resources flow into a gamble, and when you gamble the house always wins.

This is exactly why I became a casual player. Even if you have a guarantee drop think of all the in game hours, and money spent in game, and then the work hours it took to make said money. You probably deserve more than the scraps you are being fed.

I mean you can farm it.. you'll likely end up with a lot of motifs to sell, can go for achievements including the worm wizard personality, and you might end up with a page or two along the way. Its not a TOTAL waste of time. Plus it's a fun dungeon (imo).

MMO gameplay rewards pretty much favor no-lifers, students and other people who have hours to play. That's their business model and for better or worse it works for them.

Ran FL HM probably about 12-15 times and never saw it drop at all.

In contrast I ran Cauldron HM the same amount and like 7 chests dropped which is basically way better. Moral of the story. Farm Cauldron HM over and over and buy it.

    This is the game.

You should play it for fun. In your spare time. When you do not want or cannot (popular thing in last year :p ) do anything else.

After many years and posts regarding RNG ZOS finally change rules of RNG so now we will have guaranteed chance for things we do not have in our stickerbook. Very good decision, because now people will have time to look for other activities than mindless grinding. Hovewer, taking into consideration numbers of dungeons, trials, arenas and sets you will probably still need to make around 1500 runs from zero to get them all. But it is fine, you can do it in your spare time as long as you do not have the same drops all the time, because RNG has been stuck -_-

Motifs, as gold stuff is a different topic. As most gold stuff they will probably have chance of occur ca. 5-0,5% chance because they are gold and therefore unique. That is the point of unique stuff.

If you want them be ready to run 20 times the same dungeon, or pay people who did it in "your behalf" adequate charge.

Do not expect that unique stuff will be handle to you just like that.

Does anyone have any suggestions for players short on time?

If you don't have the time to farm the page just sell crowns for gold and use that gold to buy it.

If you feel like spending real money on pixels sure, call me old fashion but in the past to get a cool item you would play the game and go on an adventure.

And you can get it the old fashioned way just fine. Go on an adventure in Fang Lair :p It's one fun dungeon too. Well last boss is fun at least.

And on HM he has very interesting friends ^^

Aye, I love HM there :)

lmao that's some bait, yeah sorry I'd rather not drag my friends into a dungeon grind for days, most of them want to quit the game as it is.

And pugging is like a box of chocolates, they're gone after the first pull and the ones that stay are the ones you didn't want.

So you would rather NOT go an adventure in order to get it the old-fashioned way, yet at the same time you'd also rather not pay gold nor real moneys for that item. What means of acquiring it do you propose then?
