What if we put one more skill point into redesigned hireling passive and our loyal hirelings gather our crafting surveys?

What you think guys?

The people who do writs on 18+ characters get even richer even easier? No, I don't think that's a good idea. You get an average of one survey a day per character so it's really only the people who do writs on a lot of characters who find the surveys a major chore.

I've been as high as 8 toons a day doing writs, at that point the game started to feel like a second job. I'm at 5 now and it's about right for me- a nice supply of gold and mats coming in without being overwhelming.

On my server we're already seeing some pretty major deflation- temps under 3k each etc. So I don't think it's a good idea to make getting raw mats to refine even easier.

Isn't survey quite easy with map addon? teleport, run to the exact site, done.

Lost Treasure does most of the work, follow the red X on the map and run away far enough for the cursor to fade and run back for repeats. The actual distance varies based on where zos placed the center, safe bet is going until the addons marker starts to fade.

They're not that hard without it. I've only gotten one recently that gave me a hard time, I think it was Stormhaven, and I was reading the map wrong - I thought it was showing the entire zone, but it was actually only a small part of it, and it threw me off.

Nah, surveys help get us out and about in the world. We can pick flowers as we go maybe kill a monkey or two and in general just be a part of the world.

Surveys definitely feels like a job, I have about 1500 sitting in bank right now and really just can't bring myself to do them, but also can't bring myself to destroy them.

I do the jewelry ones but the rest just continue to accumulate.

this is what Im about! we will never do 1500+ surveys. if 1 survey takes about 4 min to do so count 1500*4 minutes its like 4+ days doing them WITHOUT sleeping, eating, toilet....

If you do them every day, sure. But if you get lets say approx 18 surveys per day it would take and hour or two to do them all daily. It's more efficient to pile them up and do them after you have 1000 or more. Makes you think why some of us do it though.. I mean it's not really worth my time irl but still I can't just make myself to destroy them either.

I just wish we didn’t have to run a mile/kilometre away and then back again when harvesting them, would be nice if we could just harvest the stack all at once or at least the resource reappears the moment the one survey is completed so we can harvest the next survey in the stack

Or if they are going to make us run away give us a Jack Sparrow run emote, sorry Captain it’s Captain Jack Sparrow

I came from XBONE - so I am used to having the ESO App open beside me on the iPad for surveys, skyshards, lorebooks, etc. - and b/c I am on a less-than-optimized MAC on PC servers ATM - I don’t run add-ons yet… so I am just stock-piling surveys in storage chests ATM. Maybe one day I will get to BBD levels of saved surveys - but so far, I am good for mats. Lol.

ZOS wants its players to log on as much as possible. By having surveys getting finished, almost auomatically, goes against that goal. So even if I strongly dislike chasing surveys, and I personally would like to have an option like you're suggesting, I don't think it's gonna happen. If you, however, come up with some suggestion that increases "player interaction" while simultaneously reducing the mind-numblingly boring surveys, I think they'd be more than willing to listen.

agree with you, but what about people have 2k+ surveys? its impossible to do manually. Any suggestion here?

I wish they were sellable in Guild Stores. Players would buy them.

CROWN CRATES: It doesn't affect gameplay, it's not mandatory, it's cosmetic only. If it helps to support the game and ZOS, I support it! Say YES to crown crates.

Yeah. Don't let them stack up that high
I don't use ESO+ (and haven't done so since some time before Orsinium) and I only use my surveys during the free eso+ trial periods (hundreds of them at once). My suggestion would be to do a bit every now and again to make it less frustrating.

this is not a solution for people who already have 1.5k+ for example

But most of them should point to the exact same locations? How many unique surveys are there? Feels like 2-3 each zone / type

"My suggestion would be to do a bit every now and again to make it less frustrating" as in "Don't do them all at once" or "Use more than you get". It's literally the only thing you can do.
Unless you change your approach and mindset about it and just don't care about surveys at all. Like I have :)

If I've counted correctly, there are currently 162 unique surveys. There are 6 types, and they exist for all of the base game alliance zones, Cold Harbour, Craglorn, Wrothgar, Vvardenfell, Northern Elsweyr, Western Skyrim, and Blackwood. Most zones have one survey per material type, but Coldharbour has 2 per type, and Craglorn and Wrothgar have 3 each.
