Fashion issues

we NEED to talk about fashion in this game its both pretty great and terribly awful at the same time.
iv been dipping into the devils plateau (FF14) and the armors in that game are pretty great and highlights a short coming of ESO
the crotch capes and the butt capes are getting old. i get it "fits" into their aesthetic but to be honest a lot of good out fit combos are ruined from them. i and alot of other people would love to be able to toggle them on and off like the hats.

also i love more revealing armors for both men an women and also on the opposite id love more detailed and high fantasy armors.
choice is the spice of life and id love more
let my man run around in a a cropped upper armor like the deadlands armor and armored underwear with thigh high boots >:D
let me run around in a holy heavy armor that looks like meridia blessed it with her divine light

give us more daily wear give us lore friendly slooty armor like gladiator underwear/shorts without a crotch or butt flap

theres lots of lore to pull from

dont accept less just because that's what they offer

Yeah I agree that those hip etc. armour parts should become a toggle. There's so many styles now and sometimes a combo doesn't work or makes them clip too badly to look good, especially with there being several levels of armour bulkiness. I do like them about half of the time, especially on heavy armour.

I've dabbled in FF14 now and then, the armour in that game looks great but it's a completely different style of fantasy, I wouldn't want that in ESO at all. And definitely not their dye system, they only have one (!!) dye channel and in many cases it just paints the entire armour a single colour, or it only paints a tiny part that makes no impact on looks. So while they have a dye system I almost never actually end up dying anything in that game.

FF14 is an enjoyable game with good armour design, but I think ESO blows it out of the water 10 times over in the fashion department, I think we're quite blessed with what we have! Just give us the ability to hide any slot please.

ESO should totally copy their ability to open/close helmet visors though!

The hip plates are needed to create additional volume for the armor, which is actually lacking. Remove them and you will see how the armor fits over the body. The armor looks the same overall. But I agree that very often these plates are too big and often hang in the air.
For the reason of more open outfits - no. Please no! I myself sometimes think, looking at many players, that the outfit system was a mistake. Just understand that tes is a completely different setting. It's more mundane.

the one thing FF14 has that eso doesn't is hoe wear if i wanna dress like a armored hoe i want to be able to the hip pads i have no issues with but the butt and crotch capes need to stop. i agree FF is different fantasy and their dye system sucks but i can throw on a some booty shorts and armored gloves and legs and take to the battle field
sometimes i want the heavy armor to bee more stacked and heavy also while id love capes the rigging for characters would need to be fixed. sa light physic system would be great for that but with how crappy the overall engine is for this i doubt it would work unless they upgraded it to a new engine which to be honest would be a dream come true but wont happen

The only problem with revealing outfits is that the ones in game all look like hot smelly garbage. Really tired of seeing Fanged Worm over and over when it looks like a bad cosplay or knockoff of Dagoth Ur. And Dagoth Ur was made in 2002 lmao. People are going to wear revealing armor anyway, I'd rather see more than just the Bosmer racial style and Fanged Worm.

The only exceptions are Timbercrow Wanderer and Sai Sahan, but even then, the granny panties look bad on Timbercrow and Sai Sahan is 7 years old (and it shows). All the revealing outfits have very little diversity, just an open midsection and a crop top. Spicing it up with different kinds of less-armor would be nice. Even just tight form-fitting armors would be nice. I like to use the Battleground Runner Jack for my nightblades because it's a tighter armor with less things tacked onto it.

Moving on to what I came here to say initially, they should definitely add more "Clothing" options to the outfit editor. The prisoner's rags are already there, they should add the rest of the clothes options and create more clothes pieces that are more up-to-par with the quality of new motifs. I love making battlemage outfits in Skyrim like these two, and it sucks I can't do something like that in ESO because all the Light Armor is literally "armor". There's no actual clothing robes.

Another thing several people have already said (almost like it's a highly demanded feature (that's in the internal dev build btw but they won't push it to Live)) is to add a toggle like "hide helmet" in the outfit editor for each of the armor pieces. Not just Helmet and Shoulder, everything. And sure, you'd get people running around without pants on and whatnot, but that's already a thing with Timbercrow Wanderer and several other costumes. Bare minimum is to add Hide Shoulder.

So if they added a collection of actual robes and clothes that are like the ones in Skyrim and prior ES games and added the ability to toggle all the armor slots, I think I would then be able to say that I'm completely satisfied with the outfit system.

And just to clarify, when I say that adding more revealing outfits wouldn't be a bad thing, I mean that as long as they actually look good and are done tastefully. Anything resembling Tera and the same kind of "female MMO armor" should stay far away from ES.

I think the thing that actually bothers me about the hip flaps is how unnaturally animated they are. They swing back and forth like they are anchored to the character's thighs. This is not how it should be. In reality they would be anchored to your waist so they should slightly flop up and down when running since that is the direction they 'hinge'. The way it looks in game is just displeasing to me.

id love to toggle pieces of armor on or off or just as long as the crotch and butt capes can be individually toggled on and off
id love more mage robes but i dont always want it to be a dress or a skirt i just want them to get creative like... hire fashion designers like bayonetta did

i still would like super tanky armor sets also id love more armor and robes to be mixed together as long as then robes have form and font flair out oddly like some of the armors with robes do or they lack a silhouette all together its like a box

NO tera armors omg no i like sloot but not that much sloot

Different game, different armor, TBH eso needs to stay far away from Manga style weapons and equipment, the 2h weapons are too large already.
