Vateshran Hollows lava exploit

A friend of mine had shared a link with me regarding a "world record" run of Vateshran hollows with a situation they weren't sure what was going on. They shared this video with me. On analysis, it appears that purging when you have the DoT from the lava ticking is removing the dot from the lava entirely until you exit and reenter. See time stamped URL link for more details. I do have a backup of a clip of it that was shared with me prior to me requesting to see the full thing if for some reason the video becomes unavailable. Disclaimer, this is not my run. I just was asked to look over it to see what may be going on.
