Dawnbreaker not dealing damage

Okay so the last two days I have been using Dawnbreaker Of Smiting and noticed that most of the time, against nb's, when I fire the ultimate in range it doesnt deal any damage and it doesnt stun them. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

moo_2021✭✭✭✭✭I had that too, dunno if that's nb. But I didn't see any dodge message and dawnbreaker wasn't logged in CM.
Since skills tend to miss in PvP, how about no cost if the enemy is not hit and doesn't explicitly dodge or block? This could be applied to all other targeted ultimates as well as one-hit area ultimates that don't actually touch anything. It's acceptable to lose a few resource but not 500 ultimate points...Edited by moo_2021 on September 4, 2021 6:46PM1 -

✭✭✭Dawnbreaker of smiting has been doing damage to my nightblades when I do not see it to react in time. Here is a screenshot from today. I didn't see this dawnbreaker coming, so I didn't roll dodge away; sometimes I manage to avoid it. The stun was effective as well. Overall, this was a very effective attack. He even loaded up the beetles first.
