CUTPURSE'S ART is not properly working

I've spent 3000 gold to redistribute my CP, then I've spent 75 CP (it's a lot !!!) for this ability (slotted... so 1 of 4 slot occupied)... and I am pickpocketing almost the same things then before. Lot of white and green items, very few blue ones, and no purples. @ZOS_GinaBruno pls check this CP ability, it's time to fix it. Champions Points have a value, and this ability is a waste of them.

That’s not what I found when I tried it a couple months back.

I tried it using the same two NPCs in St. Delyn’s in Vivec City, Narwende and Veemarz. I saw a difference even pickpocketing 70 items with and 70 items without. It may seem subtle in the moment, but recording the items and their values showed a noticeable difference in my experience:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/567228/pickpocketing-cp-and-stolen-item-quality

Keep in mind that different categories of NPCs have different loot tables, and that taking items from a dead body doesn’t count as pickpocketing. (So if you do the pick-pick-stab routine, only 2/3 of that is affected by Cutpurse’s Art.) And of course make sure the star actually got confirmed, which still gets me every now and again.

I don’t have as much time these days with work, but I’d be interested to see another comparison of a run with and a run without the star in terms of loot.

I am an expert thief and I always work in Vivec city. I have two characters with maximum of Thief skill-line and Dark Brotherwood skill-line. On one of those (NB Khajiit) I have been putting CPs in Cutpurse's Art for quite some time, and I noticed a very little advantage. This character is used just for pickpocketing, so I usually leave Cutpurse's Art always slotted. The other character (sorcerer High Elf) is my main, and I usually switch the ability slotted in the Champion Points tab. This character seems to get no advantage from Cutpurse's Art at all. Maybe I have to slot the ability and re-load the character ? I don't know. But in conclusion it seems that this CP skill is of little advantage in any case. It needs a review by the devs and I hope for a fix .

    I am a veteran thief.
I can confirm investing CPs in "Cutpurse's Art" constellation means wasting 75 Champion Points.

The loot is almost unchanged with or without "Cutpurse's Art" constellation.
There are too much white and green items, few blue, too few purple items and then too many lockpicks are dropped. :s:#

Can you let me know what NPCs are dropping lockpicks for you? I will try to test them when I get a chance. Some NPCs seem not to have lockpicks in their pickpocketing loot tables at all.

Keep in mind that Cutpurse’s Art per its own description has no effect on stealing from containers, including furniture, trunks, jewelry boxes, backpacks, and dead bodies. If you were hoping it would or if you’re looking for a massive increase in value from pickpocketing (like doubling the gold profit), I understand how it may feel not worth taking. That’s a subjective question and very different from whether it actually has a measurable impact on pickpocketing loot, which it did for me back in March. If some intervening patch broke it, the numbers will show that so that ZOS knows they need to look into it.

Please don't repeat that Cutpurse's Art has no effect on stealing from environment or using the Blade of Woe. It's obvious. We are just speaking about pickpocketing citizens in Tamriel. If you go and pickpocket citizens in Vivec City, many of them will give you just a lockpick. It happens so frequently.... I don't know how many hours you spend pickpocketing people.... I spend many hours doing that, with many characters (only two have Cutpurse's Art on).
I repeat: I say with certainty that this CP skill needs a revision, as it is now it doesn't work

All citizens, for example the following:
    Hranasgi
    Astrimunde the Elder
    Andilo Barus
    Foreman Svadstar
    Terilar
    Marie Cergend

[removed to avoid violating community rules.]

My testing from today shows Veemarz and Narwende are showing a distinct difference with CA slotted as opposed to unslotted, with numbers very similar to my results from March. Neither of them gave me a lockpick in hundreds of pulls, though. It must be fairly rare from them.

I believe I managed to reproduce what you're seeing with other NPCs, but I don't think I'm permitted to discuss that.
