YOU rank the difficulty of the content in this game! What is your TIER LIST!!!
Maintenance for the week of April 7:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store for maintenance – April 08, 2:00PM EDT (18:00 UTC) - 5:00PM EDT (21:00 UTC)
• ESO Store for maintenance – April 10, 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC) - 3:00PM EDT (19:00 UTC)
So recently I have noticed that a lot of us have different definitions of what "casual" content is or what kind of content is "hard," and which kinds of players the difficulty is tuned for. There has also been lots of pushes for more difficult content going around, but everyone seems to have different definitions of what difficult content even entails. Would it be something like Rockgrove on Vet or something like Craglorn?
So it got me curious, how would you rank the various content difficulties levels in ESO? I have created a tier list (that honestly took me a couple of hours) for you to rank the various content based on the skill level of player it is aimed at, so we can get a better idea of what the playerbase generally considers high skilled and difficult, or low skilled and easy, and all the stuff inbetween!
If follow filters of your list I would correct it this way:
S (Top 1%) – hardest DLC trials achievements and score runs
A (Elites) – DLC dungeon HM, achievements, vet DLC trials, vBRP
B (Upper mid-tier) – vet DLC dungeons (no hm), vet craglorn trials, vet arenas
C (lower mid-tier) – vet base game dungeons, normal trials, normal dlc dungeons
Z (Casuals) – overland (quests, delves, public dungeons, WB, world events), base game normal dungeons, normal arenas, crafting, housing
In addition, it’s hard to value such list without criteria.
For example:
S requires deep knowledge of game and its mechanics, meta gear and voice communication
A less demanding in mechanics than S, allows to make mistakes and wipes
B can be done without voice and meta gear not must, but both are welcome
C only requires base knowledge and minimum gear requirement
Z does not require anything and can be done by anyone (public dungeons, world bosses and events usually overwhelmed by players so they can hardly pose any thread to group and designed by group content standards)
No point putting pvp on this list since it include various playstyles within itself. Like high mmr battlegrounds are harder than low mmr, small scale and solo in cyrodiil harder than play in large groups and ic depends on your goals there.
So in the end it’s not hard to see where all the complains about lack of challenging solo content come from. Apart from 2 solo arenas there is nothing of value to players who come to eso from single player games. No difficulty options and no progression. Everything that supposed to be challenging designed for groups only. In fact even jump from C to B is huge and it sort out a lot of players who need something in between first.
I would push WB up to C if you solo them or do dragons or harrow storms with an small pug group else I agree with you.
You can obviously solo group dungeons but this only makes sense if you want to enjoy the story or the challenge of soloing it. Useless for drops friendly people in group will share gear, other does if you pay enough.
You pug an random normal and get Arx Corinium and is after medusa staff. You offer 100K or more, if not you are an causal
