I had an idea for a daily log in reward

How about giving us those envelopes with random housing blueprints in them you normally buy with writ vouchers?
Day 7 Blue base game envelope
Day 14 Blue dlc zone envelope
Day 21 Purple base game envelope
Day 28 Purple dlc zone envelope

It's something different and I really enjoy opening the envelopes and seeing what I get.

I'd say as long as the furnishing plans you get could be traded or sold it'd be fine. It'd go well with it being a random plan I think. The majority of people I know aren't interested in furnishings.

Players would then complain that the game caters to people without jobs that can log in every day. That is (I'm guessing) why we have the good reward in the middle of the month. Also some people are not into housing at all so would kind of bite for them.
I wouldn't mind better rewards but I'm also okay with what we get.

The whole idea of daily rewards is to reward the people who do log in everyday. I know not everyones into housing, you could trade them.

Personally I'm not into poisons (don't use em), tri stat pots (I stopped keeping them once my bank hit 1000), research scrolls (finished that 5 years ago) or xp scrolls (they're useful but I'm sitting on 100 plus).

So I was trying to think of something fun or useful.

That's better than giving us gold all the time. But sadly there are hundreds of ideas that are better than what we have right now and they are all being ignored. At this rate I honestly wouldn't even complain if they got rid of daily login rewards again, since they are certainly nothing to get excited about anymore.

Good idea. Doesn't matter if someone people aren't into housing anyway since only coin is useful to everyone. When almost none of the rewards are useful to everyone, I personally don't think it's a valid criticism to say something shouldn't be there because it's not useful to everyone.

I agree with the people saying it would be ok if they were tradable and if it was a random motif. If everyone gets the same one it would just crash the price for that one and make it a worthless reward for most people. (Or one you have to keep in your bank for months until it's worth selling.)

It wouldn't be any more interesting to me (even as someone who does collect furnishing plans, and craft furnishings) than the stuff we already get, but at least it would be something different.

Although I'm starting to think they should go the other way: make the login rewards the same every month and nothing but currencies, then say you can buy whatever reward you think you should get.

Login rewards are vicious, manipulative and corrupt addition to MMOs, but this idea sounds better than pre-determined collectibles and currencies.

It's free stuff. You don't have to participate if you don't want to.

Just like with crown crates there are definitely psychological patterns being exploited here. Reward the player just for logging in so they get addicted to logging in every day because every time they click the brain releases the reward-chemical until they associate logging in with being rewarded. I'd say it's definitely not as malicious as with the stuff that tries to get you to spend more money, but it is definitely still manipulative. There is no reason to reward players for logging in since getting to play the game should be a reward in itself. If they have to resort to login rewards for that to happen, it's a bribe. ESO, despite its flaws, is a good game and doesn't need to bribe its players.
Now I was hooked on the login rewards back when they were exciting but I have more than 5000 crown poisons, 8000 tripots and over 28 research scrolls for each craft now. XP potions have lost all their worth to me because I am sitting upon a mountain of XP scrolls I am never going to use up because it only takes me 5hours to reach max level on a new character and the days of grinding CP are over for me.
You could certainly convince yourself that ZOS is doing this because they appreciate us and want to reward us, but even if that is the case, the login reward system doesn't feel like it is expressing that anymore. It's always felt a little soulless to me but back when we got Murkmire for free, back when ZOS was intentionally impacting their crown crate sales with it (probably the exact reason why they stopped) it felt a lot more meaningful and like it comes from a place of appreciation.

This is true but sometimes players also aren't interested in some of the current things depending on what they like. Not everyone wants costumes and gold etc. I like the current rewards but it would be OK to get a random plan too, especially a higher tier plan.

I do find myself wishing the various riding lessons were tradable.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I now have over 3000 crown store poisons, & 100+ exp scrolls with a smattering of random instant research scrolls because I just got tired of typing DESTROY every other day.

    Give us something useful

Or even better, imagine if ZOS stopped arbitrarily limiting our mount training per day and just let us pay the damn 250 times 60 times 3 gold on day one. This is a perfect example of creating a bad system and then witholding the solution so they can sell it to us for cash and call it a quality of life improvement and "time save".

Useful is relative. I started a 2nd account and the dailies are all pretty much appreciated when just starting out. I'm playing the account without help from my main account so the daily rewards come in real handy. The rewards were never intended to be significant or take away from things earned while playing the game. Might be why we can't sell the items. THe don't want to interfere with the economy.

Exactly. Some people don't care about costumes or pets, but we've had those. Personally, I do like them, but we've also had tattoos and face markings as daily rewards, and I have no use for those, and they can't even be traded or sold.

So yes, please bring on the housing blueprints, I would love that.
