Why does Pantherfang Chapel have to be so much.

I would so love to own a castle in ESO and Pantherfang Chapel looks like a giant castle. But $65 (or more if I want it furnished) is a lot of money. And that is when the crowns are on sale.

What do you want but are second guessing because of how expensive it is?

These homes are absolutely gigantic and the possibilities within are almost endless. These crown sales help but so does getting the yearly subscription to ESO+ for almost 20k crowns.

Why does it have to be so much? Because enough players pay that much that Zenimax is happy with the revenue.

I would never pay that much and I understand the difficult choice the OP is faced with. Good luck with your decision.

@Amottica Thank you for sharing your insights. I technically knew the answer, I just needed to vent and wanted to hopefully turn it into a conversation, which is why I put a period at the end of the rhetorical question about the cost of the house, and a question mark after the part I was hoping to start a discussion over.

I too have been feeling a bit left out in the cold as far as housing goes. I have Domus Phrasticus and the freebies which is cool, and I did break down and buy the Werewolf glade, but that's about it. I feel like ZOS is really targeting housing at the super rich players which is kinda sad but at the same time I can understand if people are willing to spend that much.

I always believed in the theory of selling a million items at a reasonable price being preferable to selling 1000 for a ridiculous price, but since that philosophy is a matter of debate and long-term happiness of the player base doesn't seem to factor much into quarterly statements I guess the point is largely moot.

I do really wish they would just make all houses, both unfurnished AND furnished versions, available for gold as well as crowns. Even if it was an INSANELY high price tag so you could only save enough gold to get one every few months, it would still be better than getting mostly left out unless you are a rich whale. :p

EDIT: Alternately they could just make furnished versions gift-able.

CONFIRMED! They apparently added a dropdown to choose furnished when gifting in a recent update while I was taking a break, so... YAY!

Yes it is. When you gift a house, you get the same options you do when buying for yourself.

Theres another new house coming out- Sweetwater Cascades. If you haven't already check that out on youtube etc before buying the Chapel.

Not saying you shouldn't buy the Chapel. Just want people to see the other option before they spend that many crowns.

Your theory seems right but in mmo worlds things turn out to be slightly different - it is far more efficient to milk one whale than offer an affordable solutions to average players -_-

I too have felt the temptations, for when I get married one day, I hope to have my "ESO wedding" in one. However, I'm going to have to go with my gut and tell myself "No", because one, I have ended up buying houses before, just to never actually use them (Wraithhome is most likely going to be my forever home; it's got a wayshrine right next to it, and it still has stained glass windows, and gothic architecture). Honestly, if I want to have an "ESO wedding", I'd ask one of my friends who does have the house to hold the ceremony there. At this point in time? Not worth it for me. Is it interesting? Yes, and I hope more houses get the Pledge of Mara treatment in the future, maybe add it to some old ones too.

Notable houses are extremely overpriced, granted they are very intricately designed, huge, and can offer hours of decorating, but the prices are very high for a digital item with no functionality. Then there is the problem of the slot limit: if someone wants to fully decorate one area then another has to be left out, or have minimal decorations. If they upped the slot limit in these houses, I think a lot more players would be willing to buy them at those prices. Note to the OP: houses can be gifted now, so if you have lots of gold you could get it via gold-crown exchange possibly.

Honestly they probably just price them that way to delete crowns from subs, so that the subs will buy more crowns. I think a lot of people just use their sub crowns on those things.

It is the house of my dream..Medieval fortress and cahtedral inside...Just omg. Emperor of Mankind be praised. I would decorate it with red and golden, with holy fires, candles, altars all around and hundreds of knights would keep patroling the walls to keep me save while Im planing my next battles and witch purges...Oh wait. I can have how many npcs in total? 10 at best. No thanks..

I was tempted to buy it and waited for a month for it to appear, but decided to buy smaller Proudspire manor instead..My best decision ever. Chapel is just too big for one person. And toooo pricy.

I bought it and don't regret it; yeah it's a bit more than I'd like to have spent...
..But..imo, I consider it to be a 'proper' vampire home, as it has a church and a castle, exactly what I wanted.
I've been waiting for something like this and fell in love with it when I first previewed it.
If you love it and enjoy it and plan on using it, it's worth the cost.
Right now though, with crowns on sale, it's 'technically' cheaper than the price that's listed.

Can we just pay for the small portion of it that we can furnish properly?
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I've always though this size of house was aimed primarily at guilds, but if individual players have a particular reason for wanting one (role-playing, decorating, etc) then there's no doubt that subscribing to the game makes an incredible difference to the feasibility of purchasing such a house, as does a crown sale which coincides with this particular house being offered currently.

Thing is I really want to buy homes like these, but they just cost way too much.....and the slots are only 700+ meaning there is alot of empty space.....so like whats the point?

Beautfiul addition to housing tho......just if limit was higher and it was slightly cheaper then would get it.

When they are not on sale, then it would be 99 for an unfurnished house.

This isn't directed at anyone specific.

I bought Pantherfang and i love it, only the second house I've bought with crowns (Daggerfall Overlook when housing was released), and only 2-3 others i bought with in game gold, plus the free ones.

I had 18k crowns saved up from my ESO+ membership. I attribute that to not buying crown crates, motifs just to collect them, more mounts or pets than i can ever display or use, silly emotes, etc.

I am far from "super rich", but to be truly honest here, for the cost of a large pizza i pay for ESO+ for the month and get a lot more enjoyment from it... I known some people have less, but trying to make like the only option is to buy everything in/through the crown store is silly.

If you spend all your crowns on other things, then something comes along you want and complain you have no crowns, that's not ZOS. You get a paycheck from work and decide where to spend it, same in ESO.

Powerful and while I agree with your reasoning, I just recently started to subscribe to ESO+ so I don't have that much saved up. How long do you think it will be before it comes back on the market?
