Seriously, I was discussing with a mate who I've been pvping with for years.

I said to him if you bought this game and pvp was your goal and you leveled a character made a build and then came to cyrodill in 2021 what would you think,
He said I'd delete the game

Seriously it's that bad we the players know this do the devs actually realise how bad it is?

It's not even a game it's just so so bad it's actually pathetic

It's soul destroying, as someone who played since console launch to see how much its been butchered it's just so wrong.

but the game works in bgs.

Now it's not just lag it has to be more
It was never this bad.

For now I think they should make larger scale bgs about 1/4 the size of cyrodill 25v25v25 or something like that

Then delete and re imagine cyro
Like anyone remember how gap closers were at the start, this all got messed up because dks could jump in to keeps

Next thing we knew gap closers made you fly through the air so so stupid

This game has been so screwed with its just broken now but more so in cyrodill

Maybe the issue with the buggyness of skills is because of how many times its been re coded to stop exploits etc

I think it just needs a clean slate.
Then maybe some of the skills mechanics that have been since lost could be reverted back to how it should be.

It needs to be sorted and I think this is the only solution.

Agree with You, Cyrodill and IC are quiet messed up.

From One of the PTS notes they publiahed (maybe the 7.1.0), they are modifying the name of the only pvp event they have (I'm talking about Midyear Mahyem), maybe (and Is a very big maybe) they are thinking about something PvP related for the future since the game of the event Will change during the next year, usually they do not makes changes like this Just for d'un, they usually are follower by something more.

They said they are reworking MYM to let It happen more frequently, so there are good chances for some Cool news about pvp in the future other then a more frequent pvp event, they are started to add things to IC (Monster sets from horrors and a mythic lead for the malcath), as a plus they are throwing from time to time some endeavors to do X dailies in some Cyrodill city (not necessarly the ones that can be taken); probably there are something in the cauldron, we can Just wait and see.

PS: consider in addition the release of New World too, Is a new game quiet focussed on pvp (obviously not only but still the pvp Is already loved from it's players in CB) and Is already very welcomed from a lot of player around the world, mostly for the pvp side, so maybe (for sure) ZOS have something planned to face this new game, Its Just business and they do this job to earn Money, we the players are Money to them so the chances to lose players means money lost and I don't think they are fool to oversight this.

I personally just hate how big it is for how small the player cap (appears) to be. Yes, it takes awhile to get around the map because that is part of the gameplay and you don't want keeps being too quick to get to. My problem with it is how much of the map just really isn't ever used. A few months ago when I went there to do something that was not PvP (as one of my last fishing achievements required Cyro) I got a good taste of just how big the map is when you aren't PvPing. I swear the entire time I was there I only saw one other person outside of main roads and keep proximity. There's a few hidden gems sprinkled here and there on the map but I honestly feel it could use so much more content. I love the idea of questing while being "at risk" but you just don't find that here and quests like the IC repeatables just grow stale after awhile.

It is amazing just how much isn't used. There's even iconic locations from Oblivion like Daedric shrines, the Abbey of the eight, Cloud Ruler Temple, and many more, but you'll never see them. When I went out of my way to get the Cyrodiil angler achievement during prime time I actually didn't encounter a single other person when I was visiting the fishing spots off the beaten path.

at this point i think they are moving away from PVP for the most part. I think they've realized that even with all the attempts at fixing it and improving it that nothing has worked. Why beat a dead horse, right? Hence 95% of the content being PVE related.

I think they should remake Cyrodiil into a PVE Zone. Then create a completely separate server that JUST for a PVP Cyrodiil/IC. That way it wouldn't be lagged by being connected to the rest of the game. Balancing between pvp/pve could finally be separated.

I mean really, everyone wins in that scenario. They would of course have to allow character cloning/transfer so pvp'er wouldn't lose their characters they already have. And it would have to be a permanent feature for trying out different builds.

but still overall, this would please the most amount of people. Hell they could even charge access to the PvP server if they wanted so that they get something out of it. And with a team, albeit smaller, all focused on this.

I would like an updated version of Cyrodiil very much. I would like an additional dlc PVP zone, too, but the ESO PVP community is to small. Eso players prefer housing and pve. I am not so much into arena.style pvp, though. I want open world pvp, not 25v25 or whatever. Maybe having a look at Planetside 2 might help. there is a button to join a fight. No driving or walking, you just get thrown into a battle.

When it comes right down to it, ZOS has been unable to fix it. Things have either stayed the same or become worse over the years. Years and year have gone by. They've tried but it has not worked. I say this as someone that loves the game.

With this patch, the things they are doing are on the margins of issues in pvp - largely around trying to address ball groups and faction stacks. The biggest issues aren't being addressed. I'm not optimistic that they can or will be addressed. It's sad because there's so much potential here but performance drags things down.

I wouldn't be opposed to a rebooted Cyrodiil.

I agree that something in cyro is different, because you have the lag while taking a resourse alone, with just the npcs. It used to run better for sure.

But i also lag in bgs sometimes.

I like that they said more mym will happen, so maybe also cyro gets some fixing, hopefully. It does work better usually during mym hehe

I wouldn't mind a reboot of Cyrodiil even if it takes month or a year. A perfectly functioning pvp open world would bring players back. Just redo the entire thing from the ground up.

Too much empty space for a PvP zone, imo.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Well, I think they actually realize ... they stream housing, dungeons, worldbosses and all other activities... but if you have a link to the stream with someone from ZOS playing cyro or BGs recently I would appreciate it

And the above is exactly what I LOVE about Cyrodiil. There is no other zone that has this expansive emptiness feel. Completing the PvE achievements on alts is fun.

Cyrodiil needs to have its own server. I did purchase the Xbox series S yesterday and did notice cyrodiil improved a ton for me. If there was no lag, all the OG cyrodiil players would come back for sure! I see them around and then they quit.
