How do multiple sources of breach / debuffs interact outside groups?

This might be a weird and probably dumb question but for back ground, I was doing dragons during the event and noticed that, despite sticking caltrops down (and it showing as getting damage in), I didn't seem to be getting any pen bonus from breach, from me or anyone else. To be fair, i only checked a couple of times and this might just have been a bug / lag - or possibly just the way combat metrics reported it - but it just made me wonder if I'd misunderstood something so I thought I'd ask here: how do debufss and esp multiple sources of breach interact if your NOT grouped? I've always assumed it doesn't matter if you're grouped or not - I mean, it's a debuff on the mob, not a group only buff or something - so multiple sources would overwrite each other, but at the end of the day everyone would benefit from one of the sources of breach, vulnerability etc Am I wrong? Like I say, it may have been a bug or me misreading what CM was telling me; just thought I'd check.....

For bonus points, does one Dk's talons still overwrite another if your running a dungeon with two Dks? And are there any other ground AOes etc that overwrite like this if you've got two of the same class in a team....?

You can only have 1 source of Major Breach applied to a target at any time. Multiple sources can be applied to the same target, it will only get reduced once, the only difference here is duration of the effect and refreshing. Rather than canceling each other out as you don't know who is going to change their target or refresh the debuff, its easier to just apply all than having to do a re-check each time its applied, refreshed, or duration falls off.

When you apply a named debuff/buff on a target it checks first if there are other sources of it allread. If theres noone it applies the buff/debuff. However if there is a debuff/buff allready with same name it also checks the duration of the buff. If the duration is shorter than the one you apply, it will replace it.

Thanks, that's how I figured it would work. I guess what I saw was just a bug - it was kind of crazy during the event - or possibly I just wasn't reading combat metrics right.

I'm guessing that also means that, if I and x other people all apply the same debuff on a ball group, we're not cancelling each other out; rather I'd assume that after their purge bot clears the first, second and third instances, and the fourth would then apply? Until of course he purges again....

They would cancel and only the longest duration debuff would apply, they dont queue up.
