Let's talk about Rewards for the Worthy

Rewards for the Worthy actually feels more like a punishment when playing a lot of PvP means you have to spend a long amount of time taking containers out of each mail, then going back and deleting all the mails individually, then going into your inventory and taking all the set items from the containers, then going to a merchant or decon station to clear your inventory up again. I do appreciate they are finally adding some new sets into the RftW rotation again but I'd really like to see them rework the whole system at its core.
Anyone who puts in a fair amount of time in PvP will soon have all three new sets completely collected and then they just become junk clogging up our mail and inventory like the rest of the sets. With so many people getting the gear so often the duplicate pieces have no value other than selling to a merchant or deconning for mats after only a week or so of them coming out.
Perhaps instead of generating the email after so many AP earned we could instead get a unique RftW token directly deposited in our currency tab that could be then be traded in at a new RftW vendor for a decent amount of gold, a transmute geode or a container with a piece of the gear sets?

keep all the stuff, just send more coin - 2,000 per bag maybe...wouldn't mind getting siege weapons in the bag either...

there are a few new cyrodiil sets coming next patch that I'm looking forward to collecting...

I don't want any bag or container coming in the mail. It turns playing PvP regularly into a mail management nightmare.

Haven't cleaned out mail in a few days but want to get what you just bought at a trader? Have fun clearing 150 RftW mails to get to it.

That's why I ask for a token as currency and a new vendor where you can use them to buy anything you get out of the mails now, so we wouldn't have to get anything at all in our mail. Just a token currency that showed up like Seals of Endeavour do.

LoL, but should a "reward" be such a negative QoL issue that it actually requires an add on to deal with it?

GIve us a checkbox that removes the container from the email but we get to keep the gold / soul gem / recall stone. I like having some soul gems & recall stones in email so any of my characters can grab one when needed.

The containers are just tedium. I always vendor the item & delete the 4-20 transmute geodes. Otherwise they stack up too quick & overwhelm my inventory.

@itscompton ...I was just about to write: stop being so dang lazy and just do it ( :) )...but, after thinking on it for a couple of seconds - yeah, I like the idea of a token system a whole lot more...

    Could not agree more.

I recently returned to ESO after about a year and a half off (mostly been playing Ghosts of Tsushima and Path of Exile), and have been playing a lot of PVP in Cyrodiil, which had become my main focus before departing.

As I have rediscovered, the "Rewards for the worthy" are a blight, a huge drain on time and effort to manage administratively. I want to PLAY, I don't want to manage Mail inboxes and inventories.

The whole system needs reworked. Instead of set items, we should simply receive AP and let us use this to purchase the sets we want from a vendor. Or, as others have suggested, implement a new PVP currency/token that is issued as a reward, which STACKS in the inventory, and let us use this to purchase the sets we want from a vendor.

I am sure a better way can be implemented to provide these rewards, rather than mail to your inbox, which even with a few days of playing can become choc full of Rewards for the worthy that then take an age to administer, as discussed.

Other than this the siege is often welcome, as of course are transmutes.

One last point, since my return I have not reapplied ESO+, which I had had for years previously. This changes the nature of your game play quite significantly. No craft bag, half the amount of bank space etc (which effectively means I have no bank now since its way way over capacity). So no material/resource gathering, and virtually every item acquired is sold instantly to clear inventory. This therefore now renders any and all such materials/resources from the "Rewards for the worthy", just as useless and time consuming to get rid of as the sets mentioned above.

If nothing else throw every set that drops in Cyrodiil in the rewards loot table. At least I'll be able to fill the sticker book and have a chance to get something worth selling.

...Or rotate them once a month? You can't keep giving us the same sets for a year or two, it just becomes useless junk after 2-3 months.

    They're trash.

Trash boxes filled with trash rewards that only ever get sent straight to the trash.

ZOS could put literally anything else in their almost, and it would be better than the system that exists now.

Hmm, sounds like a wonderful source of gold & mats. Like the trash pieces I get from writ rewards every day. (opening 8 packages and selling off all the extra stuff, on up to 8 characters a day)

Of course, I also fully loot chests when I open them. I've never understood the whole "this stuff isn't worth my time picking up" viewpoint. /shrug

Just for perspective -- doing one set of writs on one character, a whole 5 minutes or so of work, gives you as much gold as you would earn from 460,000 AP worth of "Rewards" of the Worthy boxes. I can PvP for 8+ hours and not earn that much. Most people can't unless they're bombing or hardcore riding an AP train zerg for hours.

And that doesn't even include the master writs, gold mats, and ornate items you get from writs too. While RotW provides nothing but useless blue items, and occasionally some transmutes.

RotW is trash. They could literally quintuple the gold reward per box (in which case 1 set of writs would equal 90,000 AP -- still a far longer time investment than writs) and they'd still be trash.

They have no redeeming qualities. None. If they just gave us the daily guaranteed transmute geode the game would literally be better off if RotW rewards were removed completely.

I understand your desire to be optimistic, and it is appreciated, but unwarranted. There is nothing good about RotW, and no attempt to justify their current existence should be tolerated.

THE GRAND WARLORD HAS ENCUMBERED YOU WITH THESE MEDIOCRE THINGS AND SOME GOLD SO YOU DON'T REFUSE IT OUTRIGHT

At the very least consolidate them, like the end of campaign rewards. A token would also be great, but I expect a band aid not a solution. Have them contain worthwhile things like the Pelinals boxes and also arrive in the mail far less often. Alchemy stuff is always appreciated.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who feels this way about the current "reward" system.

@Grianasteri Ouch, trying to manage it without ESO+ takes the hassle to a whole other level. I've experienced it myself. Doing the whole retrieval/sell process 40 items at a time over and over because you can't fit more in your inventory doubles the time it takes.
