crossbow / ranged primary weapon for stamina?

Can we have a ranged primary weapon for stamina builds? Not the bow which seems to have a support role only.

I guess something like crossbow / like silver shards but a normal weapon, with different characteristics:

- high penetration like mace
- no ground AoE + DoT (not for backbar procs)
- spammable
- increase damage or penetration depending on how close targets are

In short it's for close range ranged attack, and players would want to keep themselves in danger zone for maximum damage, but still have some flexibility.

PS: Or long spear doubled as javelin.

Crossbow would be neat but they need to add more magicka weapons first, like maybe dual wands or wand and shield.
Chook (fill in the blank) or Chookana (likewise): I learn more by dying so teach me some more!

or conjured weapons? It's really weird now that templars and nightblade have to use staff

Bow/bow builds have been a thing for a long time, though some classes are better at it than others. You can use Snipe (the Vateshran bow increases Snipe damage at close range), Silver Shards, Crushing Weapon, or your class spammable.

New weapon/guild skill lines would be nice, but I don't think there's any way in which bow is just a support weapon.

Sidenote: 2-handed and Dual Wield both have an AoE DoT that procs backbar enchants, so it's not necessary for a weapon to lack one of those to be a "main" DPS weapon.

No. Last thing stam needs is MORE damage or MORE of anything. Stam builds already have too much in ESO and adding anything would make the game even more ridiculous to balance. If anything Bow should be reworked or heavily nerfed. Most of the abilities from the bow line only cause problems especially in pvp.

Eh, soloing some of the bosses is quite difficult without a ranged option and the bow in typical 2h/bow or dw/bow setup is rather weak alone. What I'm purposing is mainly for builds like crossbow/2h and crossbow/dw, no idea about pvp impacts.

How does bow in pvp cause problems?

One hand and spell/rune is a TES staple that's already used by NPCs in the game, not to mention it would reuse sword/axe/mace assets that already exist in the game (for all past, present, and future motifs, so no extra work there at all), so I have no doubt that if they eventually agree and provide another magicka weapon line, one hand and spell/rune is what it will be.

ESO's own key art letting you know they also are aware that this is a well established thing:

The added bonus of pursuing this route is it also allows them the option of adding a dual-wield spell/rune weapon style in the future, again with pretty much zero effort since the spell/rune would just be a coloured or particle effect item anyway that are all identical regardless of motif/weapon set they're linked to. And dual wielding magic, no staffs or wands, is also a well established TES archetype.

Bows: "Am I a joke to you?"

Honestly though they have support aspects, but they are fully viable dps weapons on front bar.

Um... how about Magicka users get something else besides your choice of four... STAVES! Same exact weapon, just different elemental effects... but still the exact same weapon. It sucks.

Whereas Stamina has choices of several different weapon types... at least they have options. I don't count simply being able to equip a different weapon for buffs either. I want a whole new weapon skill line for something other than a staff. ;)
