Improving Guilds

Guilds have been stagnant for a long time, so I thought I would put together some suggestions on how to improve them.

- Bank tabs for limited access to certain items, but open for others. WoW does this very well.
- Guild achievements for tracking group success in dungeons and trials.
- Guild ownership of homes, true guild halls
- Earned purchasable unique items

I'm sure others can add to the list.

    My ideas...

To give guilds a real meaning in the game, in addition to a chat and rooster, it is required that the guild can offer something unique that the members of the guild themselves can work together to influence. The more the guild works together, the stronger its members become.

    Guild Skills Tokens
Guild skills can be acquired by collecting guild skills tokens. Each skill or skill level cost skill tokens. The higher the level of skill the more skill tokens are needed to upgrade to an additional level. Only the Guild Owner can purchase Guild Skills using the deposited tokens.

Guild skill tokens can be acquired by participating in a wide variety of guild specific events or quests. Only members of the guild can participate.

Guild skills is only effective if you are a member of that guild. If you are a member of several guilds, you must choose from which guild you want to inherit skills from. You cannot inherit skills from more than one guild.

If a group of guild members decides to make a daily pledge for, for example, Undauted, guild tokens will be automatically issued to each individual member of that group when the task is completed. If the group does not only consist of guild members, no tokens will be issued.

There are various other events that can choosed from.
    -Daily Dungeons
    -Arenas
    -Trials
    -Battlegrounds
    -PVP

Guild tokens cannot be transferred or sold. Guild tokens can only be transferred to the personal bank or guild bank, whose guild you have chosen to inherit skills from. All members of the group must inherit skills from the same guild for guild tokens to be issued after completing the task.

    Guild Level
The Guild level depends on number of active member hours and different activities. A Guild level can never de-level from its historically highest level.
To increase the guild level, the Guild Leader needs to use Guild Skill Tokens to purchase the next level when the prerequisites for the next level has been fulfilled. The prerequisites for each level can vary. The higher the level, the more difficult to reach.

    Guild Perks
For example, a level X guild can purchase a special guild house. This guild house houses a Guild Herald (House Guest) that can give a member a set of buffs when visited. The buff is active for x hours (depending on level of the Herald).

The Guild Herald also shares daily quests which enhance the guild attributes.

    Guild Member Ranks
Guild member ranks is a composite rank based on certain in-game achievements, guild event contribution etc.

    I'd like an events calendar.

On top of things mentioned above - how about the simple ability to stack stuff in the bank without having to take it all out first.

I like the guild ranking and skill line idea above, but also extend it to include non combat based events too, whether its related to sales for those who like to be merchants to fun ad-hoc events created by the guild, whether its obstacle courses in peoples houses, to playing hide and seek in wayrest, or something else
    Soupy twist

With signups by role, configurable by the host, with rank/tag requirements. :)

Guilds aren't meaningful to everyone...for me and everyone in my trading guilds it's just 499 strangers who like to trade. The call for trials in guild chat is no different then the call in craglorn zone chat..it's just a pug with familiar names

But if guilds means someting to you as an individual, you can choose to also be a memeber of another guild.
