Final Fantasy XIV has this amazing feature that lets you save all your server and character data, upload it into their server, then be downloaded into another platform.
So, you have your sorc, for example, and you play on PS5 but wish to play on PC. Let's say you want to give add-ons a shot and you're tired of getting blue/grey screens.
This feature let's you do that, by uploading your character to the client, then transferring the data. It let's you keep all your stuff, and yet play on any platform you wish.
Why can't ESO do this exactly? This isn't some feature that existed in FF from the beginning, this had to be developed.
Perhaps because it's not shared platforms it may not work? Maybe that's a reason? I just think some feature like this would be amazing.
I played ESO since day 1 on PS4, and recently jumped on PC. But the missing my max level 9 trait crafter as well as all my purchases from the crown store over the years, not to mention having 13 characters....well that's a lot to let go of and try starting over for.
Maybe (probably) impossible here, though should in theory work just fine. Would love to see this someday.
Post explaining how they transfer data from platform to platform.

Edit to add post was from 2018 and this now fully works with PS4.
