Ultimate going off when I do not press the ultimate key

More and more frequently I am seeing my ulti pop when I am opening a door, or looting a chest or some other utterly non related activity. No finger I own is even near the ulti key. Any ideas on why this occurs?

If I assume you to be on PC, I'd say your keyboard is failing.

Though you can double check all your keybinds.

you are not alone, it happens to me daily, and i have had friends and other people claim this also happens to them as well.
and by the way, im using a new keyboard.

in addition to this, i have also pressed skills and the skill does not go off.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. Without more information, it's hard to nail something down aside from people stating that they have the issue too.

That and even if it's PC? There's the issue of making sure it's not addons, keyboard software corrupting your keyboard profile (if applicable, old Razers have had issues like this in the past), or like Fenn said — the keyboard actually failing, or the keybinds somehow being off.

This is a much more common occurrence for me. (xbox EU) Sometimes my if I press RB on one bar then LB on the other lag will set off my ult (press both buttons together). Happens most often in Kynes Aegis

I also have times where ultimates don't go off due to lag, but I expect it's a different problem.

I used to accidentally hit ultimates every now and again when it was mapped to 'r' because 'r' is also the default for looting everything and several other activities. I change the keybind to '\'.

If it is a keyboard issue where the 'e' and 'r' are getting fired at the same time, moving the ultimate to somewhere else on the keyboard geographically may alleviate it.

Tab targeting stuck in the persistent mode.

So when a critter is nearby, it targets the critter instead of the chest or node.

E button is close to the R button.

Fat finger touches both.

Ulti wasted.

I have the opposite issue on PS5... I hit my ulti and nothing... takes four or five bashes to get it to go off...

PC here and same problem. It feels like once you enter Cyrodiil your Ultimate gets a debuff that causes it to only activate 60% of the time.

Well my laptop is new on this PC box, My Mac laptop I used to use for this game was new, and it happens on 2 different external keyboards, so I'm ruling out that issue.

The ultimate thing happens to me a lot, and it's definitely not a keyboard issue.

When it happens to me, it's because I'm trying to fast-loot a container or corpse by typing ER rapidly, but something interrupts the looting process by attacking me, so the R keystroke causes my ultimate to fire even though I typed ER several seconds before being attacked.

In my case, I think it's just a combination of the computer's keyboard buffer and normal lag occurring with online actions.

Oh I have to admit my Ulti is still mapped to "r" and I often wish for a "hands behind my back, whistling nonchalantly" emote/personality for when I drop my Ulti in an embarrassing place..... such as in a Trial when looting a chest!

Who me? No of course that wasn't me!
