Dragons in... Stormhaven???

Um, is this new??

Turned in some writs in Wayrest, was at Dro-Dara Plantation wayshirne with map open to jump to Auridon.
Then I heard that very distinctive roar...

At first I hesitated bcuz doing so much grinding in N and S Elsweyr I was like yeah, another dragon ok.
Then "Wait I'm...in STORMHAVEN?"

Closed the map to see whats up and there it was hovering over the bridge facing toward Wayrest, Rolis's writ drop-off side.
Then it flew off over the city, roared in the distance like they do and was gone...

Is this something new? An amazing glitch? Or just a random thing and I just haven't seen it in over 1.5 years of playing lol?

I wish I'd gotten a pic but tbh I was too stunned and it didn't linger for more than a couple seconds.

Well, there was one flying overhead Mournhold today as well.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Yeah I think it was a very nice touch to add this back during the event. I first noticed it when logging out after turning in master writs in Mournhold and saw the distinctive shadow. I like all the little changes they make to the world during events :)

    Thanks all!
That is cool, I didn't know they did things like this but it's a really neat touch! :)

Yep, I love it! I'm making sure to wander around the capitals as much as possible for this event. The other awesome thing before Dragon Rise was the dragon shadow on the website (not here, the main website) - wonder if they did that again? I'll check tomorrow.

The only thing about it that bothers me is that you can't DO anything with them. They're essentially cosmetic.

I wish they would leave them flying over Tamriel outside of the event too.

I don't, but it would be really cool if occasionally a dragon spawned in zones outside of Elsweyr. Either like the event flyovers, or as an actual Incursion event.

Yes, I was in Auridon, traveling between zones by ship and I heard some NPCs screaming about taking cover and that there was dragon! I looked up and saw it flying around, and tried to follow it, but it just vanished. I kind of figured that it was just a fun thing for the event and wasn't anything new that you could go and fight them in other zones now.

To be honest it kinda made me want a global apocalypse scale event that would affect the entire world. Make us feel we are in trouble. Maybe a future expansion can do something like that.

Yes, saw one from the Snugpod area at Elden Hollow and recalled seeing them there once before - when Elseweyr was new. Clearly added for the event - nice touch.

Yep. When Elseweyr launched, you had dragon fly-bys in the original game zones. It was fun to see people freaking out in Davon's Watch because DRAGON.

It wasn't launch, it was the original Dragon Hunt event. But, yeah, that was actually pretty cool. It's a really neat flare we don't see that often in game, where events have some visual changes.

In the past, I've been an advocate that Witches Festival should add some Jack'o'lanterns around the world, or New Life should add some decorations. Nothing as flashy as a dragon flyby, but still.

But practically every expansion save a few HAS been something that would affect the whole world. The Planemeld was trying to merge Nirn overall with Coldharbour, not just Tamriel. For the Summerset plot, if Nocturnal had been successful, that would have borked all of Nirn and thensome. If the Grey Host hadn't been stopped, they would have very likely spread beyond just Tamriel. Same for the Dragons, they wouldn't have just camped in Elsweyr indefinitely if they hadn't been stopped, they'd have spread out again to be all over Tamriel at least, if not Nirn overall. Dagon believes Nirn belongs to him, he's not going to settle just for one dinky city out of all the planet, that's just where his invasion is focused.

Honestly I'm getting tired of these same old "save the world" plots. I wish we had more DLCs along the lines of Orsinium, where you aren't The Chosen Savior but are just someone coming into the thick of things and other people are the main focus.

Dragons outside of Elsweyr are the smart ones because every dragon who is dumb enough to stay in Elsweyr gets slaughtered in seconds as soon as he shows up.
