How to Kill a Dragon (without DLC)

The Southern Elysweyr prologue quest chain ends with you killing a Dragon. So do this quest chain on new character or alt that hasn't done if you don't have the Elsweyr DLC.

Also I think you can abandon the quest after you kill the dragon if you want, then just do it anytime killing dragons is an endeavor. Killing the dragon is the 2nd quest in the chain, so you'd just need to keep going through the dragon's lair.

Worst case, you could roll up an alt and hit that quest, if you've already finished it.

I don't know if that one counts, though; have you checked?

Yes. I did this prologue on my brand new level 20 something Magcro just to make sure it worked even though I had planned to do it during the event. I turned it in and didn't think about abandoning it until afterwards though.

    Awesome.

I'm glad there's a dragon out there available to everyone, and kudos for verifying that it works.

Was anyone able to verify that you can abandon quest after killing the dragon?

    Does maarselok count?

Maarselok requires DLC. So if you have access to Maarselok, you have no objection to acquiring access to DLC, and thus no objection to finding your way to either half of Elsweyr, and especially since the major half of it is currently on cheap, I recommend doing exactly that.

I haven't verified, but I'd be downright shocked if you couldn't. The way the game is designed, if you can drop a quest, you can drop that quest. The only ones that you can't drop AFIAK are the ones labeled, "main quest." (So Castle of The Worm, Halls of Torment, Cadwell's Silver, etc.) I'm not aware of any quests that suddenly flag as impossible to drop while you're running them.

    Yes. Maarselok counts.

Their objection to Elsweyr could just be that they have no desire (or currently can't afford) to do Elsweyr, and want to run it on a DLC they do own and actually would like to do.

This is still technically a viable method for the weekly. I would recommend just doing some normal craglorn trials/arenas instead, but if you're really determined to do this instead of that group content then go for it. I realize some people just can't do groups and don't own Wrothgar.
