weird coz i checked ttc website and it says an item was posted 8 hours ago or even 6mins ago, yet ingame when i visited that shop the item is no longer there..

so im wondering if ttc website is slow on updating info, or someone out there is simply quick on buying "good" deals lol... i can't find a price that is not twice what ttc is recommending ingame...

Tamriel Trade Center isn't a live thing, it's community-managed. Because of this fact, you cannot rely on TTC to be always accurate, as someone may have come along before you and bought the item you wanted.
Another possibility, there's a decent amount of people who make a quick buck by flipping stuff, which is they go and check a ton of guild vendors and see if any items are underpriced then they buy that to sell on their guild store. I myself used to do this when I first joined my trading guild as it was an easy source of income.
Finally, although we may hate it, there are some people that will list an item for cheap, scan the store and upload the data to ttc, then reprice it. I've not seen this much for standard stuff you would buy, but when I was looking for my spinners inferno, I saw a whole bunch of people doing it.
I guess there is also the option of people manually editing the data that they send to TTC, and I remember one of my guild masters being a victim of that, as people made him look like he was listing then repricing very highly traded items for a low price, but I've not seen many serious cases of this recently.

All in all, TTC is a great tool, but it isn't perfect. Generally for pricing stuff, I recommend using a mix of TTC and ATT (or MM), and for buying, I recommend checking the lower traffic guild merchants (I find that in places like alinor or vivec, you are more so paying for convenience than for value).

TTC shows the time the data was uploaded to their website, but it only uploads data when you go through a loading screen or log out, so it could be a while after the store was scanned. It depends on what the person who scanned it was doing at the time (other than looking at a guild store obviously).

It's not ideal, but at least it's narrowing it down to stores which had the item at some point, and sooner or later you will find one which still has it (for a reasonable price). The alternative is to just keep checking random stores, which is obviously not ideal.

For TTC I usually sort it by price and then ignore the first few entries since they are probably already gone. Usually 50/50 on the first try, 75% on the second and nearly always getting the item by the third try.

You can usually save a lot by using it, but it depends on the item of course.

Interesting to know--was always curious whether this thing happened, because I saw some listings for a certain price, then went to the store and the same item by the same seller was actually listed for a higher price than that shown.
