Can we have normal companions? with normal levelling, gears, skills, etc, just like pawns in Dragon's Dogma? Or even rent them out?

I think having Sheogorath as a companion would liven things up a bit . :p

So far companions are well above my expectations from the info during the PTS period.
What we have now, with ofc the learning curve ahead of us. for us as players and the devs for the tweaking, gives me good hope for further embroidering on the concept of companions.

My first wish would be a Templar like real healer
(with as racial 3% more healing and 3% more health)

Giving all companions a choice between ultimates to fit the role you want them to play would be great as well.
(would also help making the trait Prolific more interesting).

    EDIT: typo

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

It's the quests, background, and dialogues that make the companions unique not their faces which would make sense to protect in battle.

One thing I'd love to see and I would think it not too hard. When you play the flute or lute, your companion dances (in their racial style).

More difficult I'd imagine is to ask your companion to play the lute so you could dance to it.

I think it'd be cool if they were able to sing their race's bard song.

If you visit a pub or tavern I’d like the companion to wonder around/ eat and drink!

Personally I want a companion for my companion. They get lonely when I'm not logged in.

The Precursor would make an interesting Companion.

Completing the quest to rebuild the Precursor would unlock them as a companion.

Since you went to all the trouble to reassemble them, their rapport is maxed and cannot be lowered.

You would still have to level and equip them like normal.

Primary skill and Ulti would be the lightning skill set from Sorcs.

Special skill, something like the 5th trait from Mad Tinkerers set, summons a Verminous Fabricant to attack enemies.

Also, for obvious reasons, costumes and outfits probably wouldn't work. Maybe add dyeable channels to the Precursor so you could at least custom color it. Or limit the armor styles to Dwarven, Apostle, Refabricated and Arkthzand.

This or a Dwemer companion like a sphere, spider, or centurion would be really cool. I guess they would have to rethink gear itemization, but I would love to have it.

As far as humanoid companions go, I would like to see 2 of every race (male and female), and class represented. The more variety of companions the better since it is kind of off putting to see everyone running around with a Dunmer Waifu. They could even skip a DLC and all major balance adjustments to release this as far as I am concerned.

The dwarven sphere would be cool, it wouldn't even need a mount.

As for 2 of every race, time will tell. lol, "Poke'panions", gotta catch 'em all!

I would like a companion "switch" that I could use after any command to issue the command to the companion.

    /sit -c
    /sit3 -c
    /dancedunmer -c
    /lute -c

Also would be nice if we could have them do e-mote commands as well. In my mind, companions have the same basic animations as players so this shouldn't be a massive undertaking.

Companions aren't actually as bad as I thought they would be so I'm sensibly surprised on that one. (But I still have not forgotten all my deleted leads. What a punch in the gut, not even bothering to give us a heads up so we could go pick them up. ) However there are a couple of things I'd like to see changed.

-Skins on companions. Also personalities. Why not. Everything in our collections should be made available to them. With the obvious restrictions. I'm not saying seeing Mirri with a bushy beard wouldn't be awesome, but....

-Why can't I make my companion ride the stick horses? :hushed: I want to leave them behind only for them to magically teleport back to me after a while. Not for the teleport part, but for the sheer comedic value of it.

-When they said that companions had an outfit per character.... That was a lie. I can't dress Mirri according to my current character, and have her wear something different on another alt. Also, same thing for costumes. I'd rather them have a separate slot than walking around like matching twins. It's kind of creepy.

-Could they stand a little bit farther from us? It gets kind on old fast talking to them by mistake three times in a row when I'm just trying to loot some containers.

As for new companions.... I'd like to bring Alyxe along. She has some badass granny vibes to her. Also says I smell good, and probably cooks a mean mushroom soup for those cold nights. Plus she dropped her pants for me when I helped her!! I'm sure she has some sort of interest in me...

Also would like them to continually add new things for them to say as well as additional companion initiated quests. Would like to see a romance element there as well. Could lift the ceiling on the rapport and then when you hit that level, the companion acts more as if they were in a serious relationship with the character. Could also have that go the other way where if you let it drop, you sort of squabble/breakup where even with high rapport, they will leave you for a while. It's kind of elusive to describe here, but hopefully some of the developers are in relationships and will be able to get the idea. It's not just flirty. Something that makes it feel like your character has a real connection with the companion.

I like the idea of companion initiated quests and they should reward companion gear for those quests. The drop rate and sources, especially for purple gear, really needs to be addressed. Maybe Companion Dailies. Companion says let's go to X and complete Y activity for gear reward.

I'm really enjoying the companion system so far but I wish there were an easier way to switch their role and gear for the specific needs of each of my characters. Perhaps they could add 3 skill/gear template slots on the companion menu (for DPS, tank, and healer) so I could easily switch their roles as needed.

We all now the future of companions. Sadly its all crown store related, just look at house guests. They promoted it as some cool new feature, we got 1 free and boom everything is now crown store only. I have no doubt this is the future of companions.

There are a lot of characters that are discarded and remain static at the end of minor quests lines; picking and choosing from them could give those characters new life, and could add importance to choices made by the player.

As an example, sparing the life of an individual might give you that person as a companion later on. Or depending on your choices might make them have a happy, friendly personality or a jaded bitter one.

    Grateful for the new mechanic.

Not really a fan and don’t care much.

The grind for companion gear is something I’ve just given up on.

One way I would become an instant fan is if I could set them to do my surveys and crafting passively.

Also, I would have been much more on board if the companion was my mount, I would much rather have my mount fight with me.

    Grateful for the content, meh.
