Race for PvP

I was thinking of making a new PvP character and I like to switch between mag and stamina because I like to experiment with different builds, right now I only have a nord necro and she is stamina all the time.I had her set up as a magicka tank for a while which was fun but I prefer necro as stamina always (I find it easier to play with honestly).

So I was thinking of a new toon but I have my doubts between Khajiit or dark elf.
What you guys think of Argonian in PvP? I did never play one in pve nor pvp.

As class I am not sure yet what to go with either, warden or templar?

Dark elf for sure. You get both spell/weapon dmg and max stam/mag. Easily switchable for different builds.

Agree with this. I converted most of my characters to Dunmer just because I like to switch from stam to magicka and vice versa.

Argonian isn't bad, especially on classes that already have decent healing, ie: warden/dk. The potion passive for resources can really come in clutch too. Just don't try and make use of their swim speed in Cyrodiil, you know, because of the slaughterfish.

I had a guildee who swore by argonians. Never really liked them myself.

Not sure about your level of experience but I personally would recommend classes with buffs to sustain if just starting out. I personally like using Bretons for my toons because of the sustain buffs to magicka (I prefer playing magicka). Redguard would be for stam. Builds where you want to go back and forth between stam and mag are a bit of a headache. But I'd still recommend with going for one of the two since you have at least one sustain buff covered.

The weapon/spell damage on dark elf isn't as advantages anymore since both Orcs and Altmer get similar bonuses

Argonian can be fun, especially in a support role when playing with friends. Especially when you go with a Templar, you can be very effective in healing and helping your friends out

    Orc (hybrid with crucial speed)
    Dark Elf (hybrid fire resistance)
High Elf (hybrid defensive while channeling jabs)
Khajit (crit, less effective in noCP)
    Argonian (tri-Potions sustain)
    Nord (resistance, ultimate recovery)

Warden (ranged) and Templar (melee if using jabs) both viable and fun.

I've been on Imperials since before they were cool - especially on Magicka classes!

It might sound counter-intuitive since they don't have any obvious Magicka bonuses but the extra HP really helps you to hit your required ~30k in this meta and the discount to all of your abilities (including ultimates, Roll-Dodge, Block, your actual Magicka abilities, etc.) simply feels fabulous to play with.

Great seeing everyone's suggestions for @Lady_Galadhiel. Really cool stuff!

Lady_Galadhiel, let us know how the new toon works out! Also, I've never played an Argonian character either. I should probably change that soon. B)

Imperial is great. Honestly the extra stam and health doesn't go astray on mag builds anyway, especially in PvP which is what the OP was asking about.

I was thinking of imperial myself, then I realized I don't own them on NA,only on EU.
And the character is for NA so had to go with something else.

So, neither of the two races and classes I main with on NA and EU made your list. I guess that's why I stink at PvP?

Argonians were crazy good before they nerfed their Disease resistance passive- they were immune to healing reduction debuffs. That's why every pvp tank ran them.

    They're still pretty strong.

I made a Khajiit templar at the end,I am planning to play CP Cyro so will see how that works out.
Also planning to make an argonian healer as next one.

Well, that is not 100% true. They were only immune to the de-buff that could be proced from disease dmg type. So if you dmg someone with for example weapon that has disease enchant, that dmg type has a chance to de-buff target with Minor Defile. If you hit some one who was an Argonian back then - that chance was always 0%.

However, other sources of defile (skills, sets, passives etc) were still applying Defile de-buff to Argonians.

Rigth now, I would say that Argonians, outside of support healer in a group or zerg are kinda bad (but even then for a group healer there are better choices, like Breton). For example: Did you know that Resourceful passive (Argonian potion passive) does not actually heal for what the tooltip says in pvp ? It is reduced by 50% so it is something like 1500 every 45 seconds (you can drink potion every 45 seconds).

I would say that for some kind of race tier list for PvP, Argonian would be bottom tier, with Wood Elf and Redguard slightly above. For PvP I would pick Orc for stamina build and for Magicka build I would pick Breton.

Dark elf if you want to swap between both mag and stam. But honestly if you play stamina I feel imperial is the best race, you get 2000 stam and health (which is the most stat for any race), red diamond passive that decreases cost of everything by 6% (including dodge, block and ultimate). Pay to win race seems like the best option for stam play so far.
