My characters tend to be younger than myself.
I'm old in real life, so why would I want to be reminded of it in a fantasy game? Also, I don't find their age slider to represent how a true older person looks like.

I have characters in very different age groups.
My main has gone through a lot (headcanon-wise), so I placed her about 10-15 years older than me (40+). My warden is still really young, my necro more my own age, and my vamp is verrrrry old. I like the diversity. Nice question!

Considering time in ESO moves faster than reality, and I made my characters my age-ish, they're now much older than I am.

    https://esoclock.uesp.net/

Its been 30 years since the game launched at 2E 582. It's now 2E 612. That would put my characters in their 40s at least, though I'm just 29.

interesting how someone made a game clock but I don't think time actually progresses in game

My logic is, if there's a day/night cycle, then time is progressing. Besides ZOS has only ever given us vague answers or dodged the question, which leaves it up to us to decide.

And the idea that the last 6 years of content all happens within a single in-game year is just...what's another word for stupid?

But how do you explain things when the in-game time starts to catch up to the events of other TES games? If we hit 2E 882, for example, we're at the year that Dagoth Ur makes his presence known to the Tribunal. At some point, Barilzar creates his Mazed Band and goes on to become a lich in death. Baar Dau gets hollowed out to become the Ministry of Truth. Etc etc... The events of ESO can't take place at the same time as all of those things do.

My way to see it is that te pass as content get released:

    582
Basegame(all 3 alliance happen at the same time)
    Imperial city
    Craglorn

    583
    Thieve guild
    Dark brotherhood
    Shadow of the hist

    584
    Morrowind
    Horn of the reach
    Clockwork city

    585
    Dragonbones
    Summerset
    Wolfhunter
    Murkmire

    586
    Year of the dragon

    587
    The dark heart of skyrim

    588
    Gates of oblivion

All prologue happen a few days/weeks before the related dlc

That way we wont get into stuff that happen like yoy mention unless eso pump out content for a few undread years

I have characters in very different age groups.
My characters vary greatly. My youngest human would be about 19 or 20, my oldest about 56. It gets more complicated with the other races (particularly the elves) but there's a similar range.

I always have a backstory for my characters and of course different backstories will take different amount of times or start at different points, so my characters need to be different ages.

There should be option 5 like "I dont know". I keep clicking randomize until the character looks cool
    - Where "Update on Cyrodiil Performance & Upcoming AOE Tests"? I wish ZOS would stop kicking players' balls, especially those on Cyro

At least as similar as it gets, Idk how old the youngest possible setting is suposed to be exactly but I guess it is still a bit older than me but close enough^^
How old do you think the youngest chars are supposed to be? I'd guess 25 in case you want to know my thoughts on this.

MK's stuff is not canon, though, and many lore nerds doesn't like his stuff.

As for the topic. My characters are unique indivduals with their own personality, background and morals. So they vary a lot in age.

Is there an age setting on console?

I don’t spend a lot of time in character creation because I want to get on with playing.

My characters are all as young as I can make them. It's not logical that an older character would fight with the same intensity that a young one does.

Thanks for sharing. I find it interesting that the opinions are quite "classic" - old characters are no longer considered as suitable for the role of a warrior, but on the other hand they fit into the role of the wise old battle mage.

And it's true that you actually see a lot more young heroes running around than old ones. Besides Abnur Tharn and old Mjolen there aren't many NPCs that are old either. I actually find that a little bit sad, we should have more really old NPCs.

Agreed. I've even made more older characters than usual lately. All the constant young ones get a bit tiring, and just because someone is middle aged or older it doesn't mean they can't fight or adventure. With age comes experience and knowledge.
