Europe on NA servers

Can you not place a restriction on this? It's ridiculous that Europe, Asia and everywhere else logs into NA servers and pop locks 24hrs a day when NA is asleep or at work. Logging into PVP in the morning isn't worth it, therefore most players don't bother. Not fun for NA. I play other games now and cancelled my sub. I understand EU servers lag more than NA, but punishing NA players isn't the right way to go me thinks lol

As I live in Asia and there is no designated server here, I just have to say NO.

You joking, right? Some players learn English on NA. Which is hard on EU. Some players very tired from unstable server and switched. Also, I like small Cyrodiil population in the morning hours.

I know NA people playing on EU, should they get restricted too?

Lots of people just play on both servers.
    Total ESO playtime: 8325 hours
    ESO plus status: Cancelled
    ESO currently uninstalled.

I am located in Europe and i play only on NA because the friends that introduced me to ESO and that i play with are from NA. I have huge ping (200) and long loading times, but i still would not go to EU, where i don't know anyone.

As i don't spend that much time in ESO like i used to and because i mostly play solo content now, if i could port my character to EU, then i would go there, but i have invested too much time and money to start from scratch on the EU servers.

"It's ridiculous that Europe, Asia and everywhere else logs into NA servers and pop locks 24hrs a day when NA is asleep or at work" Then what's your problem if you're asleep or at work? Also what advantage would that bring to them, if they also have EU accounts?

"Logging into PVP in the morning isn't worth it, therefore most players don't bother." I believe that PVP works just as bad on EU, so i find your argument invalid.

"I understand EU servers lag more than NA, but punishing NA players isn't the right way to go me thinks lol" How is this punishing NA players?

I believe your frustrations have causes that reside somewhere else, so please don't vent on people that have nothing to do with the aforementioned sources.

As someone from NA who plays on EU, the servers (and the lag, and the ping) can be frightful and frustrating, especially for trials (I quit group content when I constantly had 2 fps and 999+ ping, it wasn't fun), but if you are someone who doesn't do a lot of group content and prefers solo play, it's fun to not have a bazillion players running around. And helps accomplish solo Cyro content, too :)

As to the OP - I've never known a game to lock people into (or out of) servers, and you could find ways to work around it anyways. People should be free to play how, when, and where they want.

I also mainly play in EU from NA
That is because I do not want to give up on my 1600 CP, all collectibles, achievements because I moved to a new country :)

If I could have moved my characters over to EU I would have, restrictions are bad let people play with their friends from other countries

Yeah, I'm one of them. Live in NA, started playing ESO on PC NA. Back during the Summerset Pathfinder event, I created a character on PC EU and have been playing on both servers ever since.

Same here, but in reverse. I'm in the UK and have always played on the PC EU server since launch but when the Summerset event came along I helped out on the NA server and have doubled up on it ever since. As a non-competitive solo/cooperative PvE player without addons there's absolutely no difference in performance, they're both fine, always have been for me.

    Hi Op,

I've been playing PvP pretty much in and out since the get-go. I've noticed this nightcapping trend has intensified on EU these past few years too. I think the real issue behind it is the fact that scrolls are still accessible after certain hours. Perhaps if the producer chose to lock down scrolls after a certain time (EU or NA), perhaps you'd have less of the PVE door action that does frustrate players coming in after a 'late night cleaning shift'

There are too many things not being tweaked in the PvP realm and it's starting to show.

    this.

I live in US, but half my playtime is spent on EU and I'm far from the only one. the only punishment when it comes on playing on whichever server, and that is my subjective opinion - is that crown purchases are per server rather then per account (but crown themselves are shared, so purchase on EU, also reduces available crowns on US, even if you don't get the item you bought on US)

i have some memory that campaigns are capped on insanely small number of people, even if we put outside night capping and pumping, it is end of main campaign - it seems normal to be pop-locked.

The whole "nightcapping" issue has been discussed before, and as many people pointed out in the earlier discussions, there are people from all around the world playing ESO. (That sounds a lot like a certain celebratory event going on right now.) That means any references to "night" and "day," or to "prime time," etc., are rather meaningless because they have no real meaning outside an individual's time zone-- or, if you want to pretend that you aren't being narrowminded, a grouping of three or four contiguous time zones.

For NA servers you might decide that this means ET, CT, MT, and PT. Which contiguous time zones would you pick for EU? Will they cover Asia and the Pacific? Should a third server be added for those portions of the globe? Are 3 servers enough to divvy up all 24 time zones-- that would be a whopping 8 time zones apiece, after all-- or maybe we need 6 servers with 4 time zones apiece? Where does it end?

Maybe each time zone should have its own server and anti-nightcapping routines should be used to identify and perma-ban all accounts that log in from outside a given local server's time zone? Maybe the servers need to be shut down so they're only on during the daytime for their designated time zones?

No, no, and no. No thank you. Let's not go there.
