Hey all,

Has anyone else played pc for along time then swapped to Xbox/console?

I just made the switch and it's actually not bad. Me and the fiance just got Xbox series s and X so now we're playing ESO together.

Actually pretty content with playing ESO on console now. Call me crazy.

I made the opposite switch myself but there are things I miss from console. Despite the sky is falling exaggeration of open voice chat I miss it and it is a way better system for cyrodil than text box.

Also, the console community (atleast Xbox) seems to be more goofy and fun than Pc which seem to take the game very seriously. But before someone jumps in these are my experiences and yours may be different.

Plus you can lounge and play rather than sitting in a stiff chair.

Yeah sadly some people do take it too seriously. One tank left an entire group simply because we failed at the first dungeon boss. What's sad is Tank knew the two of players were first timers and agreed to help them.

Sometimes people get disconnected which happens but not even 30 seconds they're ready to boot.

I found people who play on normal are some of the best people to play with. Had a friend who enjoyed it that way and never played a single vet because it was too stressful.

After that encounter I gave up on trying to join the elite meta and instead used all the 2nd best gear I got to help players who needed help. It made me rediscover the fun part I gave up in my pursuit to be in the top.

So far I see the community is alot more open and friendly. I do agree. Also The voice chat is actually pretty nice., Specially in cyro... If anyone doesn't like it, they can just leave the voice groups.

I do miss add-ons, and I know alot of people live and die for them. But it's not a make or break for me.

I play on both PC and Xbox and I can tell you that game-wise there is no real difference.

The only real difference is that console doesn't have addons - which honestly, for me, makes me actually prefer console. I know when I'm playing on my Xbox account that I'm playing in a vastly more leveled playing field, so to speak. The difference over on PC between playing on a top-end rig versus a potato is jarring. The difference on Xbox between an original One and a new Series X (what I'm currently playing on) is indeed noticeable - but a lot less so. So I know when I'm facing someone in Cyrodiil that our experiences are a lot closer than two people facing off over on PC. And without addons, over on console I have to pay attention to the in-game "tells" regarding mechanics in dungeons and trials, etc., which I very much like.

But your experience and mileage may vary. There are addons I hope eventually make their way into base game that I do miss while playing on my 'Box - like Dressing Room and Auto Recharge. But those are QoL things that I can (and for most of the time, since I "main" my Xbox account) do live without.

PC has been my main for the last few months so I could play with my nieces - and I love it… but, wowza - there are sooooo many things I miss about my 4+ years on XBOX.

I am still caught in the deluge of events - trying to get event tickets and dailies on all of my console accounts still - plus my new PC main - and at some point I will have to give ‘em up… but it is really tough to let it all go.
