What exactly can I damage enough to earn this without (hopefully) getting nuked while trying to just complete a small bit of damage?

Can I attack my own castle? What about houses or other buildings? What about the wall near my own gate from the bases? I could even fix it after doing that to make it not seem so bad....

Attacking the mine or such would not work here since it says "building" I assume.

In Cyrodiil, attacking a friendly structure will not cause damage.

So it has to be enemy controlled.

Resources are no longer destructable, at least the majority of them aren't. So you're limited to enemy controlled Keeps, Outposts, and Milegates.

To deal the most damage to structures in Cyrodiil, some siege engines are better than others.

I'm not an expert but for example a normal Ballista will do more direct damage to objects than a "Fire" Ballista.

Read and compare the item descriptions, look for 'deals great damage to structures and ...' as opposed to 'deals X damage to structures and ...'

Follow along or locate an active hotspot where your alliance is sieging an enemy keep or outpost, and you can deploy siege weapons far from the action and contribute by attacking doors/walls (and the ocassional player).

It's not risk free, as enemies can still come around behind you, and also can fire siege engines of their own. But it's lower risk in general vs. being up front with the battering ram.

It is repair damage, took 2 or 3 repair stones.

Thanks for pointing that out. I misread it. I guess i could just run around castles looking for walls to fix.
