Apologies if this has been raised before...

Bastian has just given me his "keepsake", the Julianos Medallion, but does it do anything?

I received a lovely mail from him about our adventures together, and the medallion itself is listed as an upgrade, but what does it upgrade?

Is it just an achievement? There is nothing to even look at.

I'm a bit lost.

    That means that Bastian's perk - occasionally looting upgraded versions of the basic potions - is now active regardless of whether he is summoned or not.
