I mean, today one of endeavor is to kill 5 reptiles and killing salamanders counts for it. I was sure that salamanders are amphibians just like frogs but maybe that's not the thing in eso world? Any experts here? how does argonians feel about the fact that they are placed in one bag with salamanders?

I see that the scholars of Tamriel are Aristotelian in their scientific thought, grouping reptiles and salamanders in the same category: Ōiotoka tetrapoda, or egg-bearing tetrapods, with blood, cold, four legs, and laying eggs.

Okay, aside from that excuse, somewhere there's a middle school biology teacher who's facepalming.

My students were too young to be working for ZOS yet, but if I ever have to answer that question of "Why do we need to know how to classify animals?" I now have another video game themed answer!

I killed five Wamasu because I refuse to use this dirty, dirty Amphbian exploit. I have my limits, you know.

I'm not even a biology teacher, and I am still facepalming.

Also, according to ZOS, argonians aren't reptiles but actually mammels. Much like the platypus they lay eggs AND give milk to their young. I mean, those boobs on argonian females aren't just their for show, right? ;-)

Came here to see how many people.knew the answer, realized OP knew the answer, and then read this and really started scratching my head... So, are argonians NOT reptiles? Ever since I was 11 playing ES3, and now this!? My life has been turned upside-down!

I went to Shadowfen. Kagouti, Passive Guar, and crocs counted. Sure I guess, why not. I don't know what a guar is but I didn't immediately think of a reptile. I suppose they are just using very loose meanings for these.

They are Draconids. It is a different family altogether.

They are reptiles. In all racial descriptions of tes 3,4 and 5 they are called the "reptillian inhabitants of black march". I am pretty sure that was also the case in Arena and Daggerfall.
Just being humanoid reptillians doesn't make them mammals.
Or does anyone have a primary source for that mammal claim?
