Is AD the best faction for pvp?

I Saw people say it on a post i did , and i gotta ask you guys, should i make a AD character for pvp? or stay oh DC?
Is there really a difference?

In 2014 it was.

On PCNA, I'd definitely say DC right now if you're wanting to run with the strongest faction. If you want a little more risk, the other two are better choices.

AD is hands down the worse. They're usually in third place on almost every populated server. This means DC or EP depending on platform and zone. I would say DC is best, they have more try hards. EP generally is reactive faction stacks. All factions zerg so ride a wave and you'll get AP.

PCNA, my experience with AD is unless a guild comes in to take charge, nobody coordinates in any way. Like barely even calling out where to go/where to defend. Makes it real hard to gain AP with my AD characters.

On PC-NA in the Alliance Locked campaign we are usually the underdogs though sometimes we'll win a campaign. I'll always stay loyal to AD regardless of how we're doing though.

PC EU they win constantly over & over (night / morning cap).

If "best" you mean ball groups that all run the exact same build, NB's that camp delve bosses to gank questing lowbies, and NBs who glitch up onto keep walls, then yes AD is best lol.

If you play between the hours of 2-5am and enjoy pvping against doors, I say go for it. Otherwise DC is the better choice imho.

I'd recommend staying on DC (not that I'm biased or anything...). And in general I support people sticking with their factions.

That said, there's a hidden upside to being on an underdog in a campaign if you like fighting in PvP more than just harvesting easy AP. The underdog side will always have decent fights whereas if your faction is the favorite then things can get quite boring with your faction zerg just stream-rolling and killing action on the map.

Of course, things can get frustrating if you are always gate-camped and zerged down just trying to re-capture resources but factions tend to loosely balance themselves in terms of power so if you're down in one campaign the odds are high that your fortunes will improve in the next.

They are all the same. It's the guilds that cross alliance coordinate that mess things up.

i don't know nor do i really care which is 'best'. i have the most fun playing with NA DC.

Stay Smurf. AD is generally just subpar on NA. They have their moments, but it's not worth it, you'll find better guilds on DC...etc, etc.

I play AD a lot.

It is always another faction that is doing better in my experience, even if I come back with a character in another faction.

I think that is designed in by ZOS or something.....

I play AD(mostly non-CP) and there's no best faction. DC has more PvP streamers followed EP, so they will have more people following just to be part of the crowd...now if that's the determining factor then you can come to your own conclusion. From my experience in no-cp PC/NA... EP is usually active and pvdooring at night, followed by AD at prime time hours, DC from my experience is not as active unless Feng or some other streamer is active there...but this could just be playing hours and that most DC are in CP campaign's.

I want to answer your question: No, it isn't.

However, this has a negative consequence. In no-cp Cyrodiil, AD is very much underpopulated. I don't want to discourage anyone to join the AD side. I think AD needs more players (besides the two or three ball groups) that do small scaling or casual group play. Not just for the fun factor of playing AD but also for the fun factor of the other alliances (taking objectives without any resistance gives no real satisfaction).

So I have two five star characters, both on AD, Xbox NA. The map does not favor AD; it’s just too easy for the other factions to come south. The location of Cropsford and Vlastaris are both well within AD territory and are useful spawn points to attack AD home keeps. As a result we are often facing large groups of both DC and EP while fighting is sparse in the hilly / difficult to navigate north. Is team purple a thing? Not really but the map can make it feel that way at times.

AD often seems to be the most hated faction in online polls. Nefas has one up right now on Twitter for example that shows this. These polls are anecdotal but still seems like DC and EP are just more popular. A few years ago ZOS stated that EP was the most popular faction.

On the other hand we are currently winning the main campaign this month and do win it every so often. It’s really pretty close between all three.

I can’t speak to other servers or platforms but it seems like on Xbox NA, DC has recently been the more successful and popular faction.

Every faction has its “ok” players and every faction has its xv1ers with 40k resists holding block.

There are almost no good players in pvp anymore. And I only say “almost” because I’m still pvping.

I play for AD myself. But I have to admit that things are very bad with us with pvp. Even if AD has a larger presence than other alliances in the campaign, this does not guarantee that AD will dominate. Many excellent pvp players and even entire raids that used to play for yellow have all changed their alliance to DC long ago. Why exactly blue, and not red, I do not understand. And in no campaign in a long time have I met a ballgroup for AD. No one. It seems like AD no longer has any raids or guild pvp at all. Even Bigbossdarkphoenix has disappeared somewhere.
I absolutely do not understand why it happened so. Previously, AD was a normal alliance, like everyone else. But due to the lack of organized raids and ballgroups, it has been feeling really bad for a long time. Yes, it's true, night keeps and scrolls grabs help us earn points. But in prime time, BPs are usually driven no further than homekeeps.

I'm AD on PC EU and I can tell you yellows are the absolute worst at group PvP.
Always ignoring UA messages and calls for help, really bad at keep defence and the most baffling thing that happens all the time in Cyro - when your group fights a group of EP or DC out in the open, you can see multiple AD people just PASSING BY instead of joining the fight and help out their alliance mates.

It may be just a case of "grass is greener" but EP and especially DC folks seem to be way more organized and understanding of Cyro environment.

Play for whomever you want to play for, though in PC-NA Gray Host (seriously, who cares about the other campaigns) AD does seem like the perpetual underdog. Not sure about the folks saying to go with DC though, EP has won a few in a row now with DC coming in 3rd in the last one (AD was second). So if you’re looking for a bandwagon that would be it. I actually feel like AD does well despite being disorganized, usually punching above it’s weight even though it’s often the lowest population.
