I like DC the best of all of them, but I don't actually support any of them because I really HATE stuff like "faction infighting", "civil war" etc. I play games to get away from real life, and fake fantasy wars annoy me out of all reason.

Entirely true! While I'm not much involved in Altmer, I LOVE the Bosmer and Khajiit, and the AD overall quest line was the single most satisfying one to me. Complete with tears a few times....

I play a Breton but on the AD. I like the fact that this game has three factions as it reminds me of the old Frankish kingdoms after the Treaty of Verdun.

There are more who support AD but those are quiet.
Only EP and DC people are loud on forums saying how much they hate AD, that is why it gives that impression.

I play games to get out of real world too.
But good politics and warfare is IMO most important and immersive to the lore.
You don’t have to associate any in game faction to a real world faction.
I take that you hate like 90% of the fantasy novels.

Blood for the... oh wrong game.

EP is best, it makes no sense from a story telling point but it incorporates the three most interesting races, lore wise. And it's pvp players, though terrible, are far more enjoyable to fight beside than DC try-hards and AD gank/bombers. They play cyrodil as it was meant to be, a big mob brawl drunken Tavern style.

I love some fantasy and sci fi (but I'm really picky). I don't like being "personally involved" in a game. I approach different media from different directions - books are told from someone else's viewpoint; games are something I have to do "hands on". *shrug* I doesn't have to make sense to you.

I get it but I am in the opposite.
I love that TES world is full of medieval politics and factions/realms.
CKIII is one of the most immersive RPG IMHO and it is also deeply political in nature.I only play with fantasy total overhauls to stay away from past real world politics, soon Elder Kings II.
But I don’t associate any fantasy politics to real world politics.It might have been partly inspired from here and there but overall we are all human(intelligent beings) so there is bound to be similar situations in alternate universes.
Part of the benefit of fantasy writers are being able to told stories in touchy subjects without offending anyone.

If alternate universe has no similarity in those regions to real world then that world is a cardboard.

@Wing The dominion lasts? Last I heard they were on the third one in the 4th era. They're literally batting 2 strikes with two outs and no ones on base. The dominion can not replace its numbers as quickly as the imperial, with out some real plot power it will lose in time.

When I first started the game, everyone said the Pact was the way to go. But I find I like all 3 factions, have characters in each, so guess I'm not favoring one over the other.

Factions are irrelevant to PvE, especially since One Tamriel. I have characters in all factions and enjoy them all equally, including their stories.

When I first started I didn’t have much choice (before any race/alliance) as Breton was the only choice that clicked with me. I loved DC for a long time and blue being my favorite color along with a cool flag banner 👍
At some point I was able to try out AD and found the story more coherent and interesting so I gotta give it to them, still hate being yellow and the flag though.

I enjoyed the DC story line the most, it also imo had the most memorable supporting npc cast, Darien, Gabrielle, Count Verandis, and Gwendis, Lady Laurent and Stibbons.

AD-once I arrived at Greenshade it just bored me to tears, couldn't wait to finish the story, only Raz made it worth slogging thru.

EP-way way too long, quantity does not equal quality, didn't really care for any of the characters except for Raynor and Kireth.

PVE: The AD zone quests and zone ambiance are more enjoyable for me. When I started ESO, I made a character for each alliance. I loved AD from the get-go. Loved all 5 zones plus Khanethi's Roost. But I found Stonefalls so dreary and tedious that my EP toon just became a mule. I still haven't finished Stonefalls on that original EP toon, which is now over 6 years old, even though I've done most vet dungeons and even vDSA on her. And so many bugs in the old days in those EP zones!! As DC, 2 of my old DC toons I've done Caldwell's Gold on, but I gotta say, the DC zone quest lines are a serious grind. I think Daggerfall's zone is like 24 quest while Auridon's is like 13 or something. I always thought it felt a lot longer but turns out it really is. I remember getting to the Alik'r for the first time and finding it such a welcome change of pace after 3 zones of Breton political drama.


PVP: I used to be "I hate the faction system, I will not take sides" but then I pvp'd in all three factions myself. I'm AD only now. I'll just leave it at that.

The Covenant as it is one of those communities that has an interesting way of fighting. We laugh in zone about how we're mostly solo players and it leads to a nightmare in coordination, but when we get the people we need doing what we need them to do the DC player base can be incredibly effective.

im not defending the 4th era dominion as there clearly the "bad guys"

however i will call into question the validity of the whole "we will out baby them!" idea in a setting were magic exists to the extent that it does. and its not like mer lack the capacity to breed like the short lived races, they just chose not to, im sure in times of war they would have no problem *ahem* keeping up.

but like i said, magic is a thing, one skilled mage can kill hundreds, regardless of faction.
