Possible issue triggering Bastien's second quest.

I have a possible issue with Bastien's quests. I raised his rapport to 1500 and did the first quest, which gave 500 rapport as normal. However his second quest did not appear. What *did* happen is that I'm now seeing a quest marker over the head of other players' Mirri companion. That wasnt there until I finished Bastien's first quest.

I have now gained an addition 167 rapport for a total of 2167 and still no second quest for Bastien. When I did the same thing on Mirri the first quest came at 1500 and second at 2000 rapport.

Doesn't help that Bastian is also significantly harder to gain rapport for, thanks to there being only one "major" daily (the Mages Guild), where Mirri has two (Fighters Guild and Vvardenfell Ashlander Daedric Ruins).

Maybe Bastian, a lover of justice, ought to gain rapport if you do the Hall of Justice quests - or, at least, the Delve ones? This would totally fit him thematically along with Mirri's Ashlander quests to explore Daedric Ruins. Bastian's basically a Dragonknight with the morals of a classic D&D Paladin (and an irrational hatred for cheese).

Bastian gives his second quest at 2750 rapport. Based on the console patch notes, which mention they fixed the arrow situation, Mirri will also wait longer to give her second quest now.

Bastian is much faster to level rapport with, if you get shares. The 15 Mages Guild dailies can be done on a single toon per day much faster than the 15 Fighters Guild ones. It took me 1.5 days, as I’d done a little scrying with him too. And in the week or more that it took me to level Mirri’s rapport, since FG dailies take significantly longer to complete than MG ones, I was never able to get the rapport from any more than one relic quest with her per day. The second and subsequent ones in the same day gave nothing, no matter which relic quest I did first or later.

Ok, good to know. 2750 is going to take a while with his low rapport options. Even with Mirri it took a while because daily in Vvardenfell didnt always work (It worked for like 7 days straight, then failed 4 days in a row, then worked again, then failed another two.. its really wonky)

Yeah, I’ve heard sometimes the relic quests don’t work at all for her. I guess I was lucky(?) that it was always once and only once per day like clockwork rather than sometimes more and sometimes none.

I know a few of my guilds have been running Bastian MG quest runs. Like world boss runs in DLC zones: one person shares, everyone does that quest, then the next person shares, etc. At 125 per quest, and usually about 5 minutes per quest, it goes quickly. That way you can get up to 1875 rapport in a day with him (only a couple of hours, actually). But if you don’t have shares, then it does take a while. Scrying with him gives +5 on a 5-minute cooldown. Taking him to Artaeum or Eyevea gives +10, but only once per day.

Do any random encounters your spot with him, too — I got +10 from him when he decided to go interfere with the random spawn of a Cryomancer and some other sorc type who were dueling. They yelled at me for ruining their duel, of course, but Bastian was happy.
