Why can’t we queue for arenas?

I get not being able to queue for normal trials although that would be very nice too but arenas are 4 person content just like a dungeon. Why are BRP and DSA not queueable?

I don't get why there isn't a queue for everything.

Veteran players who have been forming their groups since the dawn of time can continue doing exactly what they've been doing. People who are learning or not wanting to do all of the group maintenance can queue, AND the veteran groups have the added benefit of maybe not getting quite as many people thrown into their group mix who are just there to get loot, learn mechanics, and go.

I have no personal issue with arenas and trials being added to the GF though I can see from a business perspective it may not be a great idea seeing the negativity of merely dungeon GF threads.

However, I post because @Caligamy_ESO mentions that veteran players (I assume long-term players) form their own groups so I wonder what the issue is with other players forming or getting into groups with their guilds and friends. Heck, I have only been in-game for several months and quickly found a guild that runs raids. They are very active. Maybe look for a new guild if the leadership of the current one does not meet your needs.

    Just a thought. Continue on.

I am not sure it would work for trials with their 12 people.

However, I honestly don't see a good reason why Dragonstar and Blackrose can't be queued for, at least as a deliberate choice to queue for a random party - even if they do not go into the "random" pot for actual dungeons.

We had group tool for normal trials and arenas before in 2015. It was good. Now we play beat around the bush with chat in craglorn. :D

That’s interesting, I was around back then and I don’t remember this. Hopefully they bring it back eventually. The alternative sucks right now

As long as it's not as bad as random normal dungeons. Those are problematic

I don’t believe this is true.

If a trial queue would be anything like a dungeon queue, I'd suspect you'd have a 30% success rate for normal, and depending on the trial, a near 0% completion rate. As far as arenas, I think a queue would be nice, but again, on a vet arena, it's quite a leap from normal, and I'd wager you would also have a poor completion rate for vdsa or vbrp. Honestly I leave normal dungeon queues because sometimes those are even unbearable.

Sure, you could choose to not use the queue, but than most players capable of completing the trials/vet arenas, wouldn't use the queue, and it'd have an even smaller success rate.

How are you coming up with these numbers?

Using a queue is no different from pugging in craglorn. I've done many many normal trials with 11 random strangers I've found in craglorn and probably only failed 2-3 times.

Oh it will be much worse. I can just see it now, 6 hour arena runs full of tears and heart break. I'm not against the idea of course, but I just want people to know what they're getting themselves into.

Sure, let's try BRP with a lv 12 fake healer, or include vDSA in random dailies.

    What could go wrong ?

There should be queue at least for nDSA and nBRP - in zone chat people sometimes just give up with searching so with ingame queue there will much more runs than now (it's easier just to queue and wait event these 20-30 minutes doing anything else, staying in Craglorn and keep asking in chat is boring).

Yes, pls add queue for these. It's sometimes very hard to find people in chats to go blackrose prison or something.

There probably isn’t enough players looking to do arena content to make it worth their while. If the player pool isn’t big enough you would end up with even more people complaining about never getting into a group for that content. Also, the idea of taking pugs through some arenas, ye gods!

A pug trial.... good grief, could you even imagine! 🥺

Pretty sure group finder content should be puggable enough to be included, also both normal and vet. I can already imagine forums after trying brp on vet with other clueless randoms.

Sure it will save us a lot of time at first. But then imagine going to a vCR at random pug. From my experience it is absolute chaos and a waste of time. Trials are better left with no finder. Even a vHRC can be turned into a nightmare with bad support roles or dps...even a random normal is the same lol As much as i want this...the problems are: 1st people can change roles at will. 2nd you don't know what to expect.3rd the possibility of failure increases massively with harder content
You may as well invest sometime in a small progression group and actually clear the thing and maybe learn smth from it.

It wouldn't work very well as a lot of players treat the game in a very light regard.
They don't really care to optimize or evolve in gameplay, they just want to see that achievement section update when it can.

So -> No the community isn't or won't ever be ready for this..too little..too late.

Nobody said anything about including them in the list of random “dungeons” since there aren’t pledges for arenas and also the argument that nobody would be able to do them on veteran doesn’t really hold up because many random groups can’t do veteran dlc dungeons either but we still have the option of queuing

I mean, I see no harm.

But no way on earth would I use it for vet content.

For normal it should be fine. Definitely for the arenas. Most trials too. Although a fake tank in there would just cause carnage haha.

Would have actually liked one for normal dragonstar to get the death dealer's fate lead. I didn't want to subject people in my guild to running that for 40 minutes each time so mainly soloed it.
