Its already bad enought that they force love stories into almost every RPG, no need to repeat the same thing here again. They simply dont get better the more often you force them into games.

This being, as a SOLO player, whom plays so "early" in the AM, rarely is anyone on that I'd be able to "MARRY" for the Exp Bonus that is given.
And once I get far enough to earn my companion, I'd like "said" bonus.
So, Yes, I'd do it, BUT, I need to see what other companions are forthcoming before I commit to such an "act".
Why is everyone so monogamous? Go poly and have several romances! ;-)
Reason being, the way I play currently, ie. I steal shiiit alot, and I abuse Blade of Woe, which both of the current compainion HATE w/ a passion. So I won't be getting them anytime soon.
I'm waiting on companion releases that allow for complete "stealth, stealy, killy, gank" you behavior w/o repercussions.
Then I want to "marry" them for the Exp Bonus...

They don't "force" them into games, it's something the majority of the fanbase of these franchises want. From Swtor to Cyberpunk, to Baldur's Gate 3 Early acces. Half of the BG3 reddit right now is romance, and wanting certain character's romanceable. Much of the dicussion about these games even up until Cyberpunk even released "who can I romance". Go on the swtor boards or reddit and much of the general discussion is about the companion romances. Some of the topics with the largest amount of post that have been going on for years without dying are character romance threads. If they left it out of the games people would see that as a negative. They did for The Outerworlds, and it's probably one of the main reasons that RPG and it's companions were quickly forgotten about.

Haven't played outer worlds, so I couldn't say, but I seriously doubt it. My favorite RPGs generally lack romance options. And I am glad for it, becuase they are very rarely done without more cheese than what even Sheogorath could handle. And I just can't stand cheese and horrid tropes. But that is me.
That being said, I do understand that many have a love for this kind of emotional cheese, so I am not against the concept per se, just as long as it doesn't become a "must" (as in: it gives you bonuses that are hard to do without). If it is just a story element, fine. To each their own. :-)
Bastian might make s good drinking buddy but he probably can't hold his mead. Looks like a milk drinker to me.
