About Companion's gear...

Maybe I do not comprehend, but i read in the tooltip of Companion's Armor skill lines:

Light : Passive FLOW "Increase Healing done by 1% of each piece of light armor equipped

Medium : Passive FLEXIBILITY "Increase damage done for each piece of Medium Armor equipped"

To me this means that, either I want a DPS companion stamina based or magicka based, I MUST gear it up with medium gear.

Am I wrong?

No you're not wrong as things stand now. You can have a medium gear destro staff companion if you want ranged damage. At this point there isn't much difference between mag and stam companions and I'm sure that was intentional. The companion gear traits make a difference in what you want them to do, but until you've had 5 or so pieces with the same trait drop it's not that important.

It's a small dent of 7% in all medium, whereas light armor can be more useful with certain builds. If you craft an Ultimate build, you would go light armor for Parallel + Haste which would generate 100 Ultimate every 36 seconds or even faster with Quickened. It also changes up the first 3 seconds of a fight by letting your companion throw out 5 spells without Haste or 8 spells with Haste. Medium also has this disadvantage of lowering Dodge Roll cooldown, this is especially bad if they're using a ranged weapon like a Staff or Bow. They can Dodge Roll so much it causes mobs/bosses to leash and reset forcing you to start the fight over again.
