Hello Folks

This may sound nitpicky but... woudn't it be DAMN NEAT if, if you travel by a silt strider in Morrowind that you would actualy see you mount it and ride on it all the way to your destination?
You could admire the beautiful landscape and have a chill time on it's back. Cause as it is it is NO different to using the waypoint, that is mostly faster and easier to access, too, so NO insentive to use it at all. And that is just realy sad because this transport is just unique and quite awesome to look at.

So what do you think about it?

If ESO was a sandbox game it might be possible - we'll see in the future as we know ZOS are making all kinds of changes to the engine..

well... not to call the devil's name but WoW has that. If you book a transport it flies you all across the land and you can even see the players, mobs and stuff underneath you as you fly.

It wouldn't be hard for them to turn actual silt riders into moving creatures that you can really hitch rides on. What would be difficult is making their movements look realistic and fluid. No ones actually seen one move, and dare say you wouldn't want to be in in one if it jumped like a flea. But a graceful moving stilt rider would be beautiful... the problem is actual routes. They were never meant to move, just connect points so the actual travel lanes likely wouldn't really be conducive to realism.

I would like it, but you have to make sure it doesn't interfere with questing players. While it would be funny, some people might lose immersion from seeing a parade of 200 silt striders marching through the West Gash.

Then again, some dress like radioactive supermutants and we have people turning into Atronachs and other junk. My spriggan warden probably would be kicked out of every city I walk into.

Would be cool even as a cut scene that simply pans around a bit.

Maybe you could make it timed, so that one strider departs every 10 minutes or so, having multiple chars on its back. You then could even have a nice conversation, too if you want.

To make it actually work you'd want not more than a couple walking the route and stopping at the platform before moving on. Think the ships from wow. given VVardenfell size you could have 5-6 walking a circular-ish route that you can hitch a ride with out of the way spots getting 2/5 stops. Of course, though possible, I doubt they would go back to actually program it. Morrowind expansion is years old now.

If it was in the game, not sure how many times i would use it.

Probably have to be done as a cut scene as the "traffic" could cause issues. And they probably would not want people jumping off the backs of the Striders.

The engine could have Striders moving around as background statics for scenery.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

There are mini silt striders at the top part of Vardenfell (near the areas of the relic quests https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Silt_Hopper). They’re called silt hoppers. Would be fantastic as a pack pet, if shrunken down a few sizes more.

This one would love to see a few silt hoppers wondering around in the cities, especially at markets and so on, or following behind a travelling merchant.
