I just wanted to share an idea which I just had.
TL;DR: add a new Arena with weekly rewards.
One simple room, one dummy, you kill it as fast as you can. Your DPS after killing the dummy will be added to the Leaderboards so that everyone can compete for the weekly rotating title: DPS King.
So backstory is, as a PS5-player, I look with envy at PC players and their lovely (DPS related) addons. With the Blackwood update we finally got Skill Bar Timers (LOVE IT), but any further assistance towards providing combat information lacks. As a player who loves endgame PvE content and who wants to end up with the highest damage output (in a trial bossfight, not just a dummy!), console ESO does not provide the tools/data to further improve myself PvE-wise.
Okay, that functionality lacks. Let’s not linger on that and onto the idea:
What if an official small solo-instance was created where you could freely travel to as a player?
Picture Maelstrom Arena. Instead of a daunting trial, a simple Dummy awaits your arrival within this instance.
The challenge begins as soon as you apply damage on the dummy.
Your goal is simple, burn it as fast as you can.
During the fight you will see a live DPS-meter at the bottom left corner of your screen (similar with lives in veteran trials). Upon defeating your stationary enemy, the game shows you the time of the fight and your DPS. Your DPS-score will now be added to the Leaderboards, similar to your score in vMA. At the end of the week, top abc will receive xyz reward.
The normal version of this instance would offer a fair challenge towards near any player who seeks a DPS related challenge. The veteran version however is where the marbles are at, same as vMA, the server most skilled players will fight for the #1 spot and claim the weekly rotating Title: DPS King.
The difference between normal and veteran are unclear to me for now… perhaps add some trial like AoE-effects where damage can be completely avoided if dodged or blocked correctly, I’m sure you will be able to create something impossible to clear lol.
You could always skip the concept of normal/veteran and just have a place where all players can compete to get the highest DPS each week.
I think this would add a very interesting challenge, especially to players who like PvE content. Also, this would be a great way to gain some renown for yourself. Can you imagine being the TOP DPS of your server? Someone is that right now and doesn’t even know it!
Would also be nice for trial guild recruitment, “Requirement: Complete the Dummy Arena with a minimum score of 50.000”
Can you imagine helping your new guild recruits with something simple as ncr and impressing them with your high dps?
Or silencing those annoying players who complains about other people’s damage output but turns out you ain’t better.
I think we all know that CP doesn’t translate to skill or dps, but it’s all the information we’ve got on other players (console). Let’s change that.

I’m wondering if anyone here agrees to the idea above?

The said dummy can detect the type of challenge. Damage Challenge or Healing Challenge.
Damage triggers the one, a healing effect will trigger the other.
Now the dummy just slowly loses HP, increasingly faster. Keep the dummy alive for as long as you can. Dummy time alive will be your Leadersboards score.
