Back on the game — confused about maelstrom weapon changes, please enlighten me

I’ve been out of ESO about a year...or more. I ran a bunch of veteran Maelstrom arena a couple or so years ago trying to get maelstrom destro staves and finally got a few. And many, many bows and hammers and swords and such useless things... I’m hearing now that there is a ‘perfected’ crushing wall, and that you have to run vMA to get it. Now I’ve looked at my vMA weapons, and none of them say ‘perfected’. So I’m wondering what is going on with this. As I recall, you couldn’t get any Maelstrom weapons except on vMA, so...how DO you get these ‘perfected’ weapons...? And why are mine....received through blood sweat and tears in vMA...not...that...?

aaisoaho✭✭✭✭✭You now get the normal maelstrom weapons from normal Maelstrom arena and the perfected weapons from vMA. They didn't upgrade the old weapons to perfected, so everybody had to farm their weapons again if they wanted them as perfected.
At least the pain to get maelstrom weapons is nearly non-existent, since normal MA is enough.1 -

But, you really really don't need perfected. The damage difference is tiny.
It's only a bit of pen and is on your back bar, which you should be spending little time on anyway. If you don't want to do VMA, there isn't that much to gain, your current weapon is fine.1 -

Locriana✭✭✭OMG you’re kidding...lol...all that effort and I could’ve cruised through normal...Well, it was kind of fun meeting the challenge anyway...And I could use another fire staff...that was soooo hard to get it to drop...like 50 axes later...lol...1

As we now have collections as long as you still have a fire staff you can reconstruct one with transmute crystals so you don't need to run it againSoupy twist2
