Yes. From what I’ve read the only downgrade from fidelity is resolution.

But man is it a kick down in resolution. 1440 is one thing on a PC screen but it hurts on a 65 inch 4K display.

I see no difference other than shadow quality between Fidelity and Performance mode on my 4k 55” TV. No way I can go back to 30fps on console.

"Console Enhanced comes two modes to choose from: Performance and Fidelity Modes. When running in Fidelity Mode, you will enjoy native 4k for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and 1440p for the Xbox Series S; the only difference between the Xbox Series S versus the Series X and PS5 is the resolution. When running in Performance Mode on the Xbox Series S, some additional visual settings are lowered to ensure a seamless experience at 60 FPS and 1080p. You can learn more about these modes and the key differences in this website article."

From the stickied FAQ at the top of the forums...

Both Modes on PS5/XSX same level of graphics. Lowered resolution to hit 60 FPS instead of 30 with performance modes. 1440/30 Fidelity Mode on Series S is the same as the PS5/XSX graphics presets however the 60 FPS mode of the Series S has lower graphics to hit the 60 FPS target at 1080p.

I read that text earlier this week and it’s a mess of confusion. It talks mostly about Series S and says nothing about the enhancements and upgraded settings on Series X or PS5 in Performance mode. If anything, it mentions LOWERING visual settings for Series S in Performance mode to hit 60fps.

I can confirm that the settings are lowered from Series S Fidelity to Performance mode.
A list would be nice but I know we won't get that.

Reflections on water is something for sure I've seen from my small tests I've done. That is lost Fidelity->Performance on S.

Seems like the friendliest bug showing everyone offline is fixed somehow which is odd as my friends on ps4 still say I show offline to them. Digging performance mode myself on a 4k 55” oled.

If it was resolution, that would be nice! I just went in game and stood next to a section of grass... that looked HORRIBLY pixilated. It was like I was playing on early 2000's without any form of anti-aliasing. The ground bushes still look 'gritty' on the edges, etc.

I remember playing the game on a crappy PC back in 2014-2015, and it looked twice as good as this 'upgrade'. Why? Because I had control over what I wanted. I could turn shadows off, and turn things that smoothed and upgraded textures up. Today's PCs wouldn't even need that. Hell, the Series X/S don't need to. But, THIS is the huge graphics overhaul for the next gen? I think my console fell asleep running this little... I feel like those old ladies back in the 80s, "Where's the beef?!?"

There's a list on the website, they posted it on the website before release, I think that clears a few things up.

Actually, that would be correct. Since all the settings are the same, just the resolution and fps is different.

I think Fidelity might have had it's draw distance increased a bit more than Performance mode did. If you find a spot in Vivec city with the Volcano in the far background the streams of lava on Performance are blurred much more compared to Fidelity. More, I think, than the resolution accounts for.
I say that because it's very hard to tell the difference in the details of anything closer than 50M, Fidelity just looks like the shadows have a little bit more depth to my eyes. But 60fps gives everything more "pop" and to me a greater effect of overall depth and distinctiveness to objects.
It's only when something is really far away that I can see a significant amount more detail in Fidelity.
