Mirri and aggro, how to stop it?

Kind of late to the Companions game as I'm on PS4. I have both Mirri and Bastian. Neither are currently set up as tanks. I have Mirri equipped with a Resto staff and her current skills are Shadow Slash, Rejuvenation, Starfall, and Life Absorption. None of those skill have a taunt, I am always the first to attack, but the moment I drop an AOE like Avid Boneyard or an Ultimate, Mirri pulls the boss out of it to her. Then, Mirri continues to back up, pulling the boss even further away, essentially kiting the boss. This does not happen with Bastian, but this does occur with Mirri on every single character I play with her on, stam and magic.

So, two questions:

1. Other than slapping a melee weapon on her, does anyone have an Idea on how to stop this? Right now, I'd like to keep her ranged.
2. As I plan on making a tank out of her, is this what she does with a S&B? Or does she stand there and tank like a tank?

I love the companions, but this is kind of annoying.

I have noticed the same thing, especially on boss pulls. My only recommendation is to use her like a sorc pet, where you can make them engage or disengage by holding whatever button is hotkeyed for pets and pressing the block button. What I do is right after my 1st attack, I use the disengage command so she doesn't attack until I have a few hits in. That way it is less likely for her to pull bosses away from me. Hope this helps!

The only way I've found of stopping her running away with the boss is to tell her to stop attacking (hold down L3 & R3 and hit L2). She'll run back to your side then. It's a bit hit or miss on playstation tho, at least for me!
