Q: Will platform achievements carry over to the new platforms?
A: Previously earned platform achievements will be accessible on next generation consoles. Xbox platform achievements will be grouped together, regardless of what hardware was used to earn them. PlayStation 4 Trophies will still be visible on PlayStation 5, but new trophies earned on that console will count towards a separate Trophy set that is specific to PS5 gameplay.

The lucky few playing the PS5 version are saying it doesn't auto-pop anything besides stuff like "Hit X Level."
If that's the case, I might honestly stick with the PS4 version. I enjoy trophies, and not having 3 years of gameplay count on this new version is a bit dissuading.
What I don't understand is that the Journal in-game has achievements that match up with nearly every trophy. Why can't the new version simply check that and unlock the corresponding trophies?

That's actually quite upsetting as there are a lot I won't be able to get - all 18 of my characters have already done the main quest for example, so it's impossible to do it again for trophies.
There are others I [/i]won't[/i] do again - I hated Master Fisher the first time around and I'm not doing it again on a character I don't care about just for a trophy I already have.
I guess if I ever get Emperor I'll be doing it on PS4 for the platinum there

Alternatively please just give the PS4 version an unlocked frame rate option when PS5 is detected, we know this is possible from God of War, at least.
I know it’s on PlayStation for not unifying trophy lists between cross-gen games but developers must have control over when trophies are awarded and could add in a task at login to check in-game achievements against which trophies have been awarded?

Actually unifying the trophy lists is on the Devs too. It's apparently not easy, but there are games that have shared lists across generations.

Well I thought I knew everything about PlayStation trophies but I learned something new today 😆 thank you! Have there been any examples of this yet?

Huh, seems I misremembered. It was a thing for PS3/PS4 games, but apparently Sony actually has a policy now that all Cross Generation games need to have separate trophy lists. Interesting.
Hasn't this trophy stuff been confirmed already? PS5 seperate trophy list

Some people put serious work into this trophies and you throw them over like it's nothing. Are there really only so few people bothered by this?
What u do if your chars completed the main quest and lvled all skill lines? Do you expect us to delete them???

It still doesn't mean they can't sync them, because there already are games that do this (Hitman 3 for example).
