Apparently being good in PVP doesnt mean squat in Vateshran Hollows | Stam NB struggles

In the recent year i have fallen in love with my stamblade for PVP purposes. I the the playstyle and have spent a lot of time at trying to improve my rude and gankolicious gameplay. I decided to make this char my main, and after years of maining a stamplar ( flawless conq, spirit slayer ) - happily jabbing away everything in my path, with great results , i stepped into vet vateshran arena.

I put togehter a build i thought would work pretty well. Ring og pale order, Vicious ophidian, Briarheart, 3x bloodthirsty, 2h frontbar sharpnened, perf maelstrom bow with infused enchant.

I SLOWLY managed to grind my way to the last boss, where i used to ( on stamplar) nuke her down before the "minions come forward" ring of death closes in - this time however i just couldnt do enough damage. I straight up sucked at doing damage and coming from the super ultra easy stamplar jabs spam, i need to find a good rotation and seup for my stamblade.

I would appricate some tips regarding the build, rotation, maybe a good youtuber you know of that mains a nb? Anything really. Last nights vateshran run reminded me that doing ok in pvp does NOT mean you are good in PVE. :P

Go through the blue portal, then the red portal, and finish with the green portal. Do all the side objectives, collect all the orbs, and defeat the hidden bosses.

Congratulations, you're now suped up and ready for the final boss fight!!!

Yes, the side objectives and buffs are a must have for all but the most streamlined PVE builds. Vateshran is not easy, but follow that portal order for a stamBlade and you could have adequate damage and survivability to make it through in your PVP build. I know my PVP build could.

Edit: Also in the final boss fight there are 3 grapple hooks to choose from each corresponding to the three portals from before. I highly recommend doing the minotaur green one first, the blue one second, and leaving the red fire one for last. The enemies that spawn from the fire one have a channeled flame attack that just hurts like Oblivion, and can be absolutely devastating if you're a vampire. That order helped me get my stage 4 vampire magDK through veteran mode.

On Nightblade you can use your shadow to avoid that mechanic...

This. It's available for those who want it.

If you don't want to be that guy, you need to load up a combo and break the chain. I make sure relentless focus is charged and incap is ready before they close in. Then it's just aoe dots. If you can get consuming trap and rending slashes in before it gets too crowded, that helps too. As a pvp stamblade, you may already have some solid burst strategies. You just need to anticipate the very second the chain is going to start and go full burst combo that very moment. After that the void should be at around half health and which is doable even if the area gets crowded and you are using non class aoes. I'm sure with templar jabs the timing is a lot more flexible. On stamblade for this fight it's critical time things so the ultimate and and relentless are ready when you need it. At least it is for me.

Master 2h with brawler spam does wonders on the last boss. Just round up the ads pull the to the chain and go ham.

Yeah, I’m still stuck at the last boss too, stamblade cp1525 or so now. My main is PvE but not as good gear as you.

Spent about 5 hours on that boss.

There seems to be a lot of luck involved on how far I get each try, like immediately before the ring of death I often get 2 Colossus spawned and I cannot take time to dispatch them before I go for one of the shades on the ring. Sometimes they bump me into the ring, and I often get killed by the ring when I don’t get near enough to it. Another cheap death when suddenly the red circle spreads across the area and I’m on the wrong side of the arena.

I have made it as far as the third portal but not finished it.

I've been trying to improve my score on stamNB in vVH lately, here is one of my runs, in case it will be helpful.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gY9GEHF2oU

I'm using the same build as you for the trash mobs and the last boss (but for the other bosses I'm using dual weild, since I'm on PC and can swap via addons), and I have the Lover mundus because pen is gutted even more this patch. I generally feel stamNB doesn't do great with 2h, and I personally don't like the clankiness of it, but it works well for the final boss, because we generally lack aoe dmg, so having brawler (and its shield) helps a lot. My rotation there is precast relentless focus/leeching strikes/trap/dark shade, then when boss spawns hail> caltrops > twisting path > incap > brawler spam > bow proc > repeat, until execute and then it's killer's blade time (you can use executioner starting at higher health %, I use it for the rest of the arena, but not the last boss). I can skip the mechanic this way and push her to the portal phase. I found the following helps a lot: using ulti on the portal bosses, with brawler you can always stay in range of both the fire boss when he does his pinwheel attack and the minotaur when he does his erruption attack, when coming out of the portal, tab target the boss, incap is up again, she will go down to execute range fast, so that you can go to the next portal. I usually do mage>minotaur>fire, just be careful to manage resources when coming out of the last portal, I'm usually low by that point. If you have any more questions, happy to help if I can!

Hi! Im a Stamblade main who strictly pvp. I got my spiritslayer run with Sheer Venom, Venomous Smite and Ring of the Pale Order.

I think you can run pretty much anything as long as you have ring of the pale order and use brawler as a panic button when things get sweaty.
