The World is still fractured into triangles

Hi Folks,

I explicitly waited until the new patch is out, that was right now, I booted up the game... but still... the issue wasn't fixed.

7j91do1j2kyb.png

"Help me, I'm drowning inside these triangles of eternal void!"

a5kstyu19kbv.png

"Hmm... these shadows don't look very healthy, what kind of evil sorcery is this?"

On other treads redarding this from a time ago there were mentions how to maybe fix it by things like deleting the shader cache file and such stuff, but nothing of what I dared to try worked for me so far.

Hanks in advance fpr help in this.

With kind regards
Jiro

Well... I was just looking for the original thread about that Problem to see if there is anything new... there was... instead of providing help at all the staff closed it because it's a year old... WHAT? ... o.O
Maybe because it was in the general discussions instead of the bug reports...

Anyway, here is what I already tried out:
    - Deleting C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\ShaderCache.cooked
    - Edit Usersettings.txt and change SET SPECULAR_MAPS "1" to 0
    - Downloading Intel Graphic Driver

    @EnjiroKitsune

What is the current GPU in your system?

Have you tried backing up the usersettings file and then deleting it to recreate a new one?

    Hey.
First things first: a big THANK YOU for your reply :3 I realy appreciate it :3

    Here some technical data:

    Prozessor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
Installierter RAM 8,00 GB (7,88 GB verwendbar)
    Systemtyp 64-Bit-Betriebssystem, x64-basierter Prozessor
    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Grafikkarte: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

I run the game ingame on the "medium" graphic-setting.

Thith the Usersettings I just edited them (change SET SPECULAR_MAPS "from 1" to "0") and after that didn't worked i edited it again to undo the change so it's now as it was at the beginning.

So should I do and place a backup of the file somewhere, delete the original from the game folder and start the game without the file so it creates a new one?

    Yes

    - Close the game and launcher
    - Delete both UserSettings.txt and ShaderCache.cooked
    - Start the launcher
    - Click on "Game Options" in the launcher above the larger text box in the center
    - Choose "Repair" and confirm "Repair"
    - Wait for it to finish. Note that it won't download anything unless it is needed for repair.
    - Hit "Play". It will take a while since the game has to rebuild the shader chache.

Hopefully that will take care of it ...

PS: Hab jetzt gerade erst gesehen das du ein deutsches System hast. Die Prozedur ist die Gleiche, halt mit anderem Text.

Done it, ... I needed to accept every terms again and choose land, etc. and it took a Moment to load,... but unfortunately still triangles everywhere, even in the charachter selection. (but was also there before so nothing has changed neither for good nor for worse at it seems)

Is the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 even within the minimum specifications?

At least I thought so... exept the shadows that crumbles everything into these Triangles the game works just fine. Some Areas like Vvardenfell have less triangles and looks quite neat, areas that are somethere inside have even none at all, but other areas... as you see, Summerset for example is a compleete mess and even more so in daytime xD

I have read, that some other ppl. with that issue bought and build in an Nvidia GPU, what was able to solve it. But that would be an expense that I havn't planned to do die to just having bought this very PC I'm using right now and a Code for some ESO DLCs.

But that could sadly indeed be the point -.-

Looks like it may indeed be your graphics card.

It is hard to get GTX 460 or better level cards, especially new or kindly used. I have a GTX 660 and GTX 960, the latter being used for gaming. These are generations behind the curve, and it took me more than 3 months to get a GTX 3060 replacement at a non-scalper price. I wish you luck and hope you can find GPU goodness at a reasonable price and good condition.

I realy don't need high-end resolution, to play on medium graphics is absolutely okay for me if it's all working as intended (no triangles, duh) So I looked around on eBay and currently bid on a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 (2048 MB) . Still a bit of an oldish card but should at least lift my performance up by just that bit it needs to display everything properly, maybe even a bit better resolution overall, too.

    That's what I hope though.

I had this happen to me when I started playing again a few weeks ago after taking a year+ break.
I fixed it by manually installing an older graphics driver from intel website.
Removed the triangles from my game.
I'm on an old laptop with basic intel graphics. It just needed an old driver to fix the problem. For me anyway

I can't check at the moment, but all I did was go to the Intel website & their driver support page. Searched for HD Graphics 4600. Picked an older one to install, then checked the game & it looked the way I wanted. I also checked to make sure Windows didn't automatically update that driver during it's next update.
It was just kinda trial & error for me.
    Good Luck!!

Thanks for the updates and letting us know that an older driver has resolved the graphical issue. We recommend still looking into a dedicated GPU sometime in the future when you have a chance. We will now be closing this thread from further discussion.
