Blackwood is great!

As a guildie put it, its like Summerset and Murkmire wrapped into one. Lovin the map, quests, companions, all of it. Overall just a great chapter so far. The new trial Rockgrove is my new favorite trial and the mythics and other leads are great too. No complaints from a pve quester perspective. I’m enjoying the break from normal Cyrodiil, to quest around in Blackwood. Hopefully the area will be North of Blackwood! Thanks!
P.s. yes there are bugs and glitches and a whole bag of worms. But this post aint about that.

Please don't pay any attention to the peanut gallery dissing your PoV and the chapter. I too find Blackwood really great. It's the first chapter since I started playing (three years ago) that feels like real fun to me.

Actually I'm not finding any bugs. Everything's working fine for me!

The blackwood zone is beautiful and I'm not a swamp Fan at all. There is a nice mix of green grass, colorful flowers and and willow trees.
I also like the sound of oblivion portals. Even if I don't think there are great treasures, it's a lot of fun to join the events.

From both companions I only unlocked Mirri so far.
The character writing is awesome and the german voice actress did a great job.

In combat I tried to gave her a tank role first without any taunts, so that she could survive even the hardest fights, with self heals and shields.

But now she is using two swords and medium armor and the fights with her on my side feels much better.
(I'm trying to unlock the medium armor skill for a bit more survivability).

With the companion system I visit older zones much more. Once a day I try to complete one undaunted, one dolmen and one mage guild quest.

So far I'm really satisfied with the new chapter and I didn't even started the main quest yet.

i enjoyed the quests more then greymoor and vardenfell, but only greymoor had a worse zone for me.

not trying to nay say your fun, i bought it and its okay, but it does just feel like a larger DLC more so then an expansion.

i wish the swamp section had been bigger, thats a theme that could use some expansion scale to really drive home the black marsh idea, but sadly its only really explored in a small area in the south east corner of the map around a crafting station.

So two of the best, most unique zones in the game plus jewelry crafting, the psijic skill line, battlegrounds, a new class, and two trials > a zone that's just copy/pasted from cyrodiil and murkmire, companions, and 1 trial? Rockgrove is a great trial, yes, but it's hard carrying the chapter. Everything else is mediocre at best.

    *ambassador dies*
    You: walk in
You: telling the guard somebody killed the ambassador
Guards: immediately doesn't assume its you (sooo logical)

They could have wrote it better. Blackwood seem very good.

I like Blackwood's mix of hills and marshlands. Very peaceful atmosphere at night, with the open areas filled with moonlight and fireflys.

Also like all the maras running around, but still don't know quite what they are...kind of like a capybara?

Enjoying the chapter, myself. Glad the bank/craft bag and sell to merchant is fixed.

Enjoying companion's more than I thought I would. Wish I could see the companion’s stats like I can on my character so when I change gear it would be easier to see. They do die a lot as a tank. Maybe not leveled enough or geared good enough but I see most of them commit suicide on the portals last boss all the time or world bosses. Almost decided that one will be a healer and one a ranged DPS and give up on the tank role for now. Plus, glad it's not like a 4-5-hour grind to unlock them on each character. Thanks for that ZOS. Love how the companion system encourages going back and playing older content again. Hope they continue to add more companions.

The zone is big with lots of wayshrines which is nice. Glad ZOS remember the community feedback from last year and needing to add more wayshrines.

Like how all the delves continue to be different and not just like a hole in the ground like most of the base delves. Public dungeons are fun. The Stibbons quest was the best yet. Glad to see the crows made it to the new zone.

We need a 2nd or even 3rd quickslot menu. 8 is not enough. By the time I have food, potion, banker, merchant, companion 1, companion 2, antiquarian's eye I only have one slot left. What’s the point of having so many emotes/collections when we can’t slot them?

Wish each companion could hold like 30 items each of only their own companion gear. Also, it would be nice if ZOS would add companion gear to the stickerbook system.

Ability bars are a welcome edition for console players, but I do hope they continue to improve on them and fully show both bars. If the issue is screen space, I would forgo the buff and debuffs to fully see both skill bars. Honest now the only buffs I really what to see is my food timer and any exp bonuses. It would be so nice if we could have that as an option to only show those 2. Since I have and play 18 different characters that are all set up different just seeing a little bar for the backbar abilities is not nearly as helpful as being able to fully see both ability bars.

The new scaling system for sets has killed off a quite a few of them. Most are not worth using anymore. Guess this is a good overall thing for PVP but it killed PVE side. Don’t have an answer for it but I do hope it stays on the drawing board for ZOS.

The Shadowfen lead…nothing to add :(

The reduction is the CP tree has now with over 2300 CP given me the flexibility to be able to change between 2 different setup which is nice, but the green tree is starved for CPs. It either needs more passives or at least 2 extra skill slots like 6 abilities vs. 4. The micromanagement of it is not fun at all and just a punishment for console players who cannot use add-on such as Jack of all trades add-on. C’mon you can no better by console players.

Please given us skill layouts or dressing room add-on that PC players have next. Oh, a mini map as well, be nice if you could add it to the quickslot menu. Pretty please with a dose of Sithis on top.

    Stay safe :)
