chest, gut, & hip sliders changed on the finished character, I checked using a change appearance token because he looked a little off, so I deleted him without finishing tutorial.

This is why I suggested a grace period where you can go back and adjust your character's look before it is set in stone.

I know some of the outfits/custumes can literally change body shapes of your character instead of forming to yours. Like the timbercrow will give the appearance of wider hips on females and thinner hips on males. Or the corseted riding outfit will give your character a wider waist (even if your character is skinny).

I think what OP is saying, is the sliders moved on their own between creation and using a character customization token.
I had this myself just yesterday, Still had my slider screenshots from when i last changed her awhile back, when i first used the token and went to edit her, ALL THE SLIDERS WERE IN DIFFERNT LOCATIONS.
I DIDNT CHANGE THEM, THE GAME DID.
I had 2 tokens so i checked again, screenshotted the new slider locations i had selected and saved my character. Used/wasted the new token..... and sure enough the sliders were in different places from where i had literally just placed them 5 minutes beforehand!
So yeah, i had been seeing the same problem OP.
Its not the shape i set or that i paid to set, its whatever the game feels like giving them when i hit the creation button!
