Does Unleashed Ritualist, Necropotence or group buffs work on companions?

If yes - those sets do work because companions are treated as pets instead of as players - then why doesn't Conjured Ward morphs work on companions also?

They're treated as assistants/allies, like a banker or quest npc, as far as I can tell.

You don't slot companions on your skill bar, so they aren't pets but are treated like pets.

I checked, it doesnt. Bastial kept dealing 3509 damage with light attack, but my Bear's damage was increased.

I'm levelling Bastian to use specifically as a tank and adjusting my main character build to complement him but thought maybe he would do better as a dd for the extra dps when soloing stuff.

In some content he dies too easily despite supplemental healing so I'll only be using him where he makes completing content easier.

To my surprise soloing normal Vaults of Madness was much easier with him tanking (level 11).

They basically qualify as another group member and can effect group based buffs and stuff. Noticed both me and a friend both using our companions just absolutely destroyed the healing in the Pale Order Ring since it counted as being grouped with 3 people instead of 1.(1 person and 2 companions)

Blades works on them...I even think sorc shield works on them.

I think companions actually work better in dungeons and trials

The sorc ward doesn't visualy show the effect on Bastian only on myself and the summoned familiar or twilight.

I attempted using Bastian for soloing normal Black Drake Villa but he kept dying at the end boss because he wouldn't move out of aoes and I couldn't outheal them.

I changed my build several times and did manage to defeat Pyroturge Encratis (Slippery perk, leeching plate, winter's respite, valkyn skoria & blocking) for the 1st time ever solo but was still disappointed because Bastian didn't make it easier.

I'll probably give it another try when his build is maxed and has the best equipment but it probably won't help as it's his AI scripting that is the problem.

But things are bugged with companions. I don’t get any rapport with Bastian for lore books (even waiting 48 hours to be sure of any cooldown). But I do get the rapport increase notification for non-lore books in bookshelves or stacks, including ones that I have previously read. With the standard 5 or 10 minute cooldown, whichever one it is.

Some people in my guilds have reported negative rapport with Bastian for harvesting bugs. I haven’t seen that (or at least not getting any notifications).

Okay thanks, that's disappointing that Ward Ally works but you have to equip a restoration staff in order to use whereas the Sorc class skill Conjured Ward skill doesn't.

I wonder what the devs/ZOS logic behind that choice is?

I would imagine because they are treated as players. Ward ally is a shield for other players, conjured ward is a solo shield that only works on you and your pets.

Oh okay thanks, that's frustrating that they are treated as players so Ward Ally works but then they're not treated as other players and sets like Combat Physician don't work (as far as I know).

What I’ve noticed is that when I activate a synergy from Bastian, it doesn’t give me back resources through the Undaunted passive. Not sure if that’s a bug or intended.
