Gaze of Sithis & Preserved Wraxu Feathers

Heeey all.

I have 2 questions regarding Preserved Wraxu Feathers.

1: Anyone know what the drop rates are?

2: how many tries have people who gotten it do?

today i finnished try 16-18 and still no Preserved Wraxu Feathers.... now wait 20 hours more...

I got it in 5 tries.

Tried to get the Preserved Wraxu Feathers on PTS, got it on the 6th try.
Tried it on the live server, got it on the 2nd try.

Though I know of folks that needed 20+ tries. If you have more characters with the passive that should also speed up things quite a bit.

Got it on the first day, when I didn't even know it dropped. I've been getting equipment from Remains-Silent daily on one character since the sticker book came out.

I have it filled, but I come back for the sacrificial hearts.

To be clear -- is this the lead for which you have to ask Remains-Silent to give you equipment?

And at the risk of hijack -- is there actually a good PvE use case for Gaze of Sithis, or is this item strong only in PvP?

4th try. I had 3 toons with db levelled up, got it on 2nd day in one of them.
Still think it's a bad idea to put stuff like this behind time gated content, with rng.
Then again a lot of leads come from really unfortunate places.
I wish the team put more effort into this system.
I don't consider grinding old content as being engaged with the antiquity system.
This is a video game, if they want mythic items to take longer to gather, just add more leads but with 100% drop rate.

I'm trying it out on my tank that does random dungeon finder. Having the extra hp and regen is really nice.

Block still prevents the knockback and with 35K res, damage is a joke. The 0 mitigation is not felt at all.

I got it on first try from outlaw's refugee of Windhelm. Other leads took a lot longer tho. (and because I spent my time with free ESO+ on trying to get Kinras pieces, I do not have the leads from DLC dungeons)

i got it on the 4-5th try. tried from multiple locations, but the drop happened in the db site. don't know if the drop rate is better there or if it's the same everywhere

On PC EU, it took 2 or 3 days before I got it.

On PC NA, it took more like 4 or 5 days-- about 2 days longer than on PC EU.

I have 2 toons with the Bequeather passive. On the 4th day I got it on the first toon, so 7 tries over 2 toons (4 tries on that one toon that got it).

Resists above 32.5 are mostly meaningless in PvE. At that point, you've got 50% damage mitigation. Blocking starts at 50% mitigation so a tank with 32.5k will be mitigating 75% of incoming damage while blocking at a minimum (It will be higher than this in most cases.)

There are specific tankbuster attacks (like some of the Minotaurs in vFH and nearly everything in vMHK) that will tap hard enough to kill you if you don't block their attack. In those cases, the Gaze becomes a fatal trap. In other content, where nothing's tapping you for more than ~70k damage, you can use the gaze without much risk. It's only the +100k hits that will end you.
