Companion Gear Drops

After several days of playing, I've only had one piece of gear drop for my companion (mace). I've been hitting world bosses, delve bosses and running those Oblivion portals that spawn in certain locations and not having very much luck. The drop rate seems really low, is anyone else having the same results?

WOW, you seem really unlucky, I have grinded, with Mirri, for the last day or so and gotten two jewelry pieces (a necklace and ring), two resto staves, a inferno staff, a one handed axe, one bow, a two handed sword and like 5-6 armor pieces (all types) in green or blue.

I just been grinding her level up today (up to level 17 now, three to go). after I get her leveled then I will bring her to some world bosses and dungeons.

I get roughly 3 companion items each evening, average playtime around 3 hours.
Often from chests or delve bosses, a couple times from world bosses but I dont farm them or anything.

On my first day in Blackwood I got a purple chest which sold for a lot, its definitely a good way to make money.

The thing is anything can drop companion gear, if you only focus on the big boss mobs you're not likely to get them as often. Sure they probably have a better drop rate, but its not by much. Whenever I get the chance while hitting up the Public Dungeon for the daily, I also see if I can go around in a circle clearing out huge packs and get to the respawns. In the 10 days the game has been out, I have collected around 70 companion gear, most of it is from trash mobs at dolmens and public dungeons; rarely was it ever from a Boss mob.

I got Blackwood last Friday and so far I have got 3 purples and around 8 blues and a heap of greens, these mostly have dropped while farming dolmens and once or twice a mob has dropped items. I have run all over the map doing as many delves as I can but drops don't seem so good as dolmens for me anyhow.

I only really seem to be getting them from Dolmen bosses (not the chests). I have had only TWO drop from multiple group dungeons, nothing from public dungeons or world bosses. I have yet to find a purple piece at all, and I've been travelling with Bastian since release day. Is there something specific I should be doing to find purple pieces?

Started on launch day, took vacation to play all week all day and to date have had exactly 5 drops. Have done every quest, delve, WB, PB and trial.

    Drop rate is horrible.

I've had it since Tuesday and have had 1 purple, like 10 blues and lost count of greens.

Public dungeons are bas imo. Bosses have a 5 minute cool down in there.

Normal 4 man dungeons are a good source. You can do 3 or 4 of them solo in like 15 mins, with 5 chances in all of them.

Add another person to the mix and it's even quicker.

Sounds like I'm just having bad RNG luck then, I've been playing roughly 4 hours each night after work, I picked up Mirri on Wednesday, hitting all the locations I posted each evening and I'm like, ok....what am I doing wrong? (ha)

Think I need to rub elbows with some of you, and get some of that good RNG juju.

World Bosses did not drop gear for me very much. I've done about 30 since launch (15 yesterday) yesterday and got two drops.

Delves and dolmens seem to drop them about 1 in 5-10 times, but it's not a time-efficient way to get there.

I ran four-player group dungeons by pairing with another person, and we both used companions. After 6 runs we each got about 6-7 pieces of gear between us. Not really sure if vet or normal is different - we got more blues in vet, but I got a purple from the final boss on a normal - probably all RNG related.

I had pretty good luck with public dungeons since they have a decent density of bosses.

Plus, you get plenty of companion XP in there.

Do you have to have the companion active to get companion gear drops? Can you get companion gear from stealing?

i'd suggest doing public dungeons with many bosses in off-peak times - just cycle between them hoping they respawn

Been running the public dungeons only for the mages dailies on 3 of my alts and got no complaints.
They are not raining, and they're all green/blue, but they do drop time to time.
The drop rate seems fine to me.

ZOS will probably do the same thing they did with the furniture / housing materials - they were really rare at first but then they adjusted the formula and made them much more common.
