survey maps in Blackwood suck...

So instead of being clustered together, the 6 nodes are spread out over a wide area. I found 4 out of 6 nodes of a Blacksmith survey, 2 fur traps and 3 fiber nodes from a Clothing survey. I ran around trying to find the ones I miss, but even with full glow I couldn't find the 3 I missed. Who decides to spread these out over a wide area?

It's bad and to be even more annoying - one of blacksmith nodes is almost entirely hidden behind terrain - only very small part is visible :/

I totally agree,I got enchanting survey and the stones are spreaded out that badly I only found 5 of 6,not talking about the alchemy survey what I can not even find for the sake of it,I did go all around the area where the map did show me and I didn't see any flowers at all.

I was thinking about that yesterday.

The only 'sensible' one was Jewellery (all nicely clustered together in a recess).

Enchanting I had to go all around the perimeter of the derelict building, but at least they were obvious enough.

Blacksmithing they were all over the place and one of them not only was way off the rest but it barely stuck off the ground.

Clothing a-OK I guess compared the the above two, but again not a particularly convenient layout.

At least in the W.Skyrim ones where they wanted to get 'creative' like the Jewellery one for instance they are spaced out but lined up in such fashion that is hard to miss a node.

Maybe a second look at this wouldn't be amiss?

The terrain in Blackwood is buggy. I have encountered two places where, from one side, it’s boulders but, if you get behind them, they disappear and you can get “locked in”. There’s just one small way out. And i have run into a couple of places where the terrain feels off.

Maybe that’s having an effect on the survey nides?

I agree. We first saw this in Greymoor with the jewelry survey nodes being spread in a wide area, but in Blackwood it's even worse because not only the nodes are spread in a wide area but also hidden behind ruins, rocks, even the terrain as mentioned.

I don't know who thought this was a clever way of doing it, but it sure as **** ****** me off no small measure this morning. With the enchanting nodes I only found 4/6. Not impressed. It's one thing to think it is okay to force the grind on players but to do it this way just adds insult.

I have only had the clothing and wood working surveys so far, I complained about the clothing one, had to turn the grass off to find it all and still it was not that easy they spread it out so much. There is no reason to be making it that hard just to pick up a survey.

Agree, there have been some nodes already spread around in Western Skyrim.

That would be awesome. You put a couple of survey maps in their inventory and they come back one hour later. If you have ESO+, the mats are stored in the crafting bag, if not, you need to buy some additional inventory slots for them with crowns of course :D

I wish they would stop adding Surveys in every new Zone. Loved they left them out of Summerset. My F'ing bank space can't take another zone of Survey's. Glad they are awful to harvest too, ZoS just loves to keep making our lives unnecessarily annoying.

The Blackwood surveys are terrible. You can spend several minutes circling a large area and not find all six nodes. The worst is the Enchanting one in the northeast corner with nodes on all sides of the ruins, inside and out. I’ll just be destroying that one from now on, I’m never jumping through those hoops again. The Dev that placed those nodes should be obligated to farm them all for us.

I can show you places in Cyrodiil where the square corners of water stick out of rocks, and trees levitate four feet off the ground...... after seven years. Terrain bugs are, unfortunately, not high on the priority list for them.

I have only gotten one so far and it was spread out over a much larger area than the other zones. The biggest issue was that it was a Clothier survey and the nodes blended in with the tall grasses. The crates of hides were even hard to spot. They also didn't seem to glow as much.

To be fair, there are other zones-- including in the base game-- where some of the survey nodes are spread out rather than being jammed together in a small area.

That said, I haven't done any of the Blackwood surveys yet, so it will be interesting to see just hiw spread out the nodes are.

As far as Summerset not having any survey maps, I found that a bit disappointing, myself.

Agreed. They totally suck. They’re spread out over an area the size of half a football field and hidden behind terrain.

Even with the max level passive they’re hard to find.

I believe the surveys are consumed upon collecting the first node. I had it happen once that I was collecting a survey some number of years ago and crashed in the middle of getting them, had two or three nodes left. When I logged back in the nodes were gone and my survey was gone as well.

That's correct. Once I was doing an Alchemy survey in Bangkorai and got disconnected after harvesting the first node. When I logged back in, the other 5 nodes were gone and so was the survey.

Yeah, tenthing as to how terrible of an idea this was.

Absolutely no one was suggesting "hey, you know what would make doing surveys better? randomly spraying them out over a larger area and hiding them amongst terrain features!"

Blackwood surveys are going to be continually annoying to do unless the character has the foraging-highlight skill for every single type of survey they do.

I really hope ZOS never do this again, and even better, recognise the stuff-up and fix it in Blackwood.
