How many times do NPC's threaten to kill us or beat us up

(even Sharparrow in Blackwood after she learns about our membership of a certain murderous organization)

. Most of these NPC's surley know what we have achieved, some even know that we pimp slapped Molag's left bal, stopped Nocturnal and many other deeds. Yet these fools clearly think they are stronger than us, i mean c'mon.

It just annoyed me when Sharparrow threatens to kill me. i mean come on ffs, i bet even bloody Bastion could beat her.

Its not like they can look up the vestiges social media and see all the stuff your characters done or even what your character looks like, its all word of mouth and who in Tamriel would believe some of the crazy stuff are characters have done besides those we have worked with in the past.

I am actually surprised at this point that there aren't challengers coming out of the woodwork looking to make a name for themselves by killing the vestige.

Plenty of heroes don't die a heroic death, my vestiges story should have ended countless times due to their arch enemy fall damage, its only due to are ability to come back to life that countless opponents have not finished us off in the past.

Sad thing is, we can't lie about it either.

My main character needed the mount aggression passive from the Dark Brotherhood line for PVP. It's surprisingly useful to not aggro every wolf you ride by in Cyrodiil.

So since Varanis Arano herself would never join the Dark Brotherhood, I simply swapped her outfit, hairstyle, and briefly pretended that this was some other Dark Elf assassin abandoning the Morag Tong for this other cult long enough to get the passive.

Except now, it turns out that we can't lie to Eveli for some reasons, so actually, my earlier roleplaying was pointless. Thanks, ZOS!

I know, I know, our choices ought to matter...(cough, except the sacrifice at the end of the Main Quest, cough).

How did you handle Naryu's quests in the gold coast then? She learns your a member of the DB, even uses you to take the blame for one of her assassinations.

ESO, and indeed all the TES games, really aren't able to be too flexible when someone roleplays really counter to the storyline. That's where imagination comes in to paper over the cracks, and that's how I handle the Gold Coast.

That's not really quite the same as my character having no choice but to volunteer the information that they are a member of the Dark Brotherhood. Unprompted, to boot! My imagination will paper over that crack too, but it's just kinda dumb and easily avoidable if the writers had given us dialogue options.

Having done the quest now I'd say that even my Dark Brotherhood Silencer wouldn't have blithely revealed that info to goody-two-shoes Eveli. Well, her armor and constant pick-pick-stabbing of NPCs might have given it away, but then Eveli wouldn't sound so shocked and betrayed.

This clear abuse and public ridicule must end! What is the point of being a hero if it doesn't come with respect. Or for that matter, why become the scariest criminal in the region if every NPC has a death wish?

Yeah does seem like an oversight not to have added an option to [Lie], [Persuade] or [Threaten] in that dialog. I wouldn’t share the fact I’m a member of the DB with anyone outside the organisation.

I said the same stuff last year for greymoor. Dialogues are childish, full of contemporary slang that doesn't fit the Elder Scrolls era. Off-topic but I am also tired of the same faces used for NPCs since 2014. I wish ZOS could create a more realistic and detailed character customization that both ZOS and players could use for their new (or old with an appearance change token) characters.
